4 Stefon Diggs replacements Texans can trade for ahead of NFL trade deadline feat. Joshua Palmer, Mike Williams and more

Earlier this offseason, the Houston Texans acquired wide receiver Stefon Diggs, a 2024 sixth-round pick and a 2025 fifth-round pick from the Buffalo Bills, in exchange for a 2025 second-round pick.

Joining the third team of his NFL career and joining a loaded Texans WR group, Diggs was expected to help give second-year quarterback C.J. Stroud more help.

Diggs played eight games for the Texans this season but suffered a torn ACL in Week 8 against the Indianapolis Colts. The news was discovered today, and Diggs will now miss the remainder of the 2024 season.

Wide receiver Nico Collins is on injured reserve with a hurt hamstring.

In eight games, Stefon Diggs had 47 receptions for 496 yards and three touchdowns.

With Stefon Diggs out for the rest of the season and Nico Collins on injured reserve, the Texans have a void at wide receiver and could acquire a pass-catcher before the deadline expires on Nov. 5 at 4 p.m. ET.

Here are four wide receivers the Houston Texans could target before the deadline.

1] Joshua Palmer

Per Sportskeeda's insider Tony Pauline, "The Chargers are looking to replace Joshua Palmer, who is not in the teams's long-term plans despite two-and-a-half solid seasons."

Palmer has been with the Los Angeles Chargers since the 2021 season. His best season came in 2022, when he had 72 catches for 769 yards, both career-highs. This season, he has 15 receptions on 22 targets for 243 yards.

If Palmer is moved, the Chargers could expect a day-three pick in return for him.

2] Courtland Sutton

Another wide receiver who could be on the move is Denver Broncos' Courtland Sutton. Per Pauline, "Sources close to the situation believe there's a 50/50 chance the Broncos move Sutton."

The Broncos are no strangers to trading wide receivers. They traded Jerry Jeudy to the Cleveland Browns this offseason and wouldn't mind getting younger at the position by acquiring a draft pick in return for Sutton, whose name has been monitored in trade talks.

Sutton has 29 catches for 377 yards and two touchdowns this season.

3] Mike Williams

New York Jets wide receiver Mike Williams has been on the trade block since the team acquired Davante Adams from the Las Vegas Raiders.

Williams signed a one-year deal with the Jets this offseason but hasn't been involved much this season due to the crowded wide receiver room in New York. Just this past Sunday, he had zero targets on 33 total snaps.

Williams is expected to be traded before the deadline. Williams only has 11 catches for 160 yards this season.

4] Jakobi Meyers

Last but not least, the Houston Texans could check on Jakobi Meyers' availability.

According to Mike Silver of the San Francisco Chronicle, the San Francisco 49ers offered to trade for Meyers before they reached a long-term deal with Brandon Aiyuk.

At 2-6 and with Antonio Pierce in his first year as head coach, he may want to think about the future and look to get compensation by trading away Meyers. Meyers has 31 receptions for 325 yards and two touchdowns.
