5 best landing spots for Connor Williams ft. Miami Dolphins

NFL center Connor Williams suffered a season-ending ACL tear with the Miami Dolphins in Week 14 of last season against the Tennessee Titans. Williams' agent, Drew Rosenhaus called the injury "pretty significant" and some questions were in doubt about Willliam's NFL career.

ESPN reporter Adam Schefter delivered some positive news on Tuesday about Williams' recovery process. Schefter reported that Williams will be ready to play by the start of the 2024 season and is currently in discussions with multiple teams regarding a potential contract. He aims to finalize his decision and sign with a team before the beginning of training camp.

Williams has played in six NFL seasons with the Dallas Cowboys and the Miami Dolphins. He's appeared in 83 total games while starting in 77.

With news of Connor Williams being expected to be ready by the start of the 2024 season, teams are interested in signing the versatile veteran offensive lineman.

It's unclear if Williams views himself as a quality starter or not at this stage of his career going forward coming off of the ACL injury,

Here are five teams that should take a chance on signing Connor Williams for the 2024 season:

#1 - Miami Dolphins

It would be no surprise to see Connor Williams back with Miami.

Williams started every game for Miami during the 2022 season and was the only player on offense to play every single snap.

Williams missed Week 4's game against the Buffalo Bills last season before suffering a season-ending ACL tear in Week 14.

Before the injury, Williams was a quality starting offensive lineman for the Dolphins. With Williams getting closer to being able to participate in physical activities, the Dolphins could look to bring him back for another year to compete for the starting center job.

#2 - Dallas Cowboys

Why not have a reunion with the team that drafted him? The Dallas Cowboys could look to bring back a familiar face with Williams playing center.

When Williams played with the Cowboys from 2018-2021, he played his traditional left guard position. Williams could provide more depth at the guard position or battle second-year center Brock Hoffman for the starting job.

Hoffman has only started two games in the NFL and Williams could potentially protect Dak Prescott again.

#3 - Philadelphia Eagles

The Philadelphia Eagles could use depth on the offensive line, especially at center. Jason Kelce retired this off-season, leaving the starting center job in Cam Jurgens' hands.

Jurgens is a quality starter but the Eagles could benefit by bringing in another veteran to at the very least compete for the starting spot.

#4 - New York Jets

The New York Jets' main priority this season should be to protect quarterback Aaron Rodgers. Rodgers went down during the team's first offensive drive in the 2023 season with a torn Achilles. They know Rodgers' health is in question.

The best thing to do to help Rodgers avoid another big injury is to add more protection to the offensive line. The Jets have done that this off-season by drafting OL Olu Fashanu in the first round of the 2024 NFL Draft as well as adding John Simpson, Morgan Moses, and Tyron Smith. Adding Williams could add more depth and competition in the re-vamped offensive line.

#5 - Chicago Bears

The Chicago Bears drafted quarterback Caleb Williams with the first overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft. Like the Jets, their main focus this off-season should be to protect Williams heading into the 2024 season.

The Bears have added many skill players this off-season to help Williams and the Chicago offense but could benefit from adding a veteran OL in Connor Williams.
