5 Blockbuster trades NFL teams should make ahead of the 2023 trade deadline
The NFL Trade Deadline is less than a week away. The Philadelphia Eagles have already kicked things off with a blockbuster for Kevin Byard. There are tons of other rumors and potential moves. Hopefully, that big trade won't be the biggest. Here are some huge deals that NFL teams should absolutely make by October 31.
Five trades NFL teams should make
5) The Las Vegas Raiders should trade Davante Adams
Davante Adams is an exceptional player, but he is having a hard time in Las Vegas. The Raiders are bad, and the quarterback play continues to get worse. It didn't work trading and pairing him with Carr, and there's no shame in sending him elsewhere. He still has a ton of value, and a lot of teams would jump at the chance to add him. This is unlikely, but it should happen.
4) The Tennessee Titans should trade Derrick Henry
Derrick Henry isn't getting younger, and the Titans have Tyjae Spears. He's not as good, but he's younger and cheaper. Right now, Henry would have a strong market. That may not be the case as he continues to get older. Several teams would be interested in the star running back, so they could get some really good assets.
3) The Carolina Panthers should trade Brian Burns
Brian Burns was reportedly desired by the Los Angeles Rams, who offered the Panthers two first-round picks. In hindsight, especially since they haven't been able to extend him, they should've done it. Even still, the market for a good edge rusher is strong, so they could get a solid return since they have very little future assets to help Bryce Young with. If they're going to be able to add any talent in the 2024 draft, this is how to do it.
2) The Minnesota Vikings should trade Kirk Cousins
Kirk Cousins won't waive his no-trade clause, but he should. Even after a win, the playoffs are a bit of a long shot for the Minnesota Vikings. A pending free agent, the New York Jets would likely be interested in adding Cousins. Other teams could as well. He's playing at a very high level for no reason, since the Vikings aren't good and he's probably not in their future plans. They should cash in while they can.
1) The Kansas City Chiefs should trade for a wide receiver
The Kansas City Chiefs are 5-1 and have very few holes. Wide receiver is one of the only ones. They can easily get by and even do well without adding one, but if they add one of the available players, it would make them the favorites going forward. Whether that's a stunner for Davante Adams, or for someone like Hunter Renfrow or Jerry Jeudy, this is a big trade the Chiefs should make.
