5 most important players on 2024 Jets roster feat. Breece Hall and Aaron Rodgers

The New York Jets' 2023 NFL season was derailed before it even really got started. They entered the year with high expectations after landing Aaron Rodgers during the offseason, but a season-ending injury on his first offensive drive essentially ended their hopes of being playoff contenders.

After nearly a full year recovering from his devastating ankle injury, the superstar quarterback will return to the Jets for their first game of the 2024 NFL season. The franchise once again has its sights set on making a postseason run and ending the longest active playoff drought (13 seasons) in the NFL.

Here are five key players who could be crucial to their potential success.

#5: Garrett Wilson

Garrett Wilson has elevated himself among the top wide receivers in the league. With a potentially massive upgrade at quarterback, Wilson may be able to take the next step forward and create real problems for opposing defenses.

#4: Haason Reddick

The Jets' defense ranked towards the top of the NFL last year, including having the eighth-most sacks. They achieved this mostly through their scheme, as none of their players recorded more than 10 sacks individually.

Haason Reddick can potentially change this, as he has exceeded this number in the past four seasons. A top-level edge rusher could be a major addition to their already elite defense.

#3: Breece Hall

Despite playing in one of the worst statistical offenses in the NFL last season, Breece Hall still broke out for an impressive 1,585 scrimmage yards. With a theoretically improved offense around him and another year removed from knee surgery, it wouldn't be surprising to see him improve even further.

Opposing defenses won't be able to load the box as much, so Hall may have even more room to operate.

#2: Tyron Smith

Blocking, specifically pass protection, has been an issue for the Jets in recent years. With Rodgers returning from an Achilles injury, protecting him will be one of their top priorities.

They added former All-Pro tackle Tyron Smith to help in this area, but he has had some injury issues of his own. If he can stay healthy, he can help them solve a major concern.

#1: Aaron Rodgers

It was already proven last year that without a legitimate quarterback, the Jets will have an extremely difficult time making it to the playoffs. This will likely be the case again this year, as their outlook relies heavily on Aaron Rodgers.

If the four-time NFL MVP is at his peak, he can help the Jets win the Super Bowl, but if he is limited or suffers another injury, the team may suffer a similar fate as they did last year.
