NFL athletes are one of the highest-earning individuals with multiple revenue streams to contribute to their weekly paychecks. While there are players who are focused on their own success, several have been helping the less privileged for a long time. Athletes such as Patrick Mahomes and Baker Mayfield have actively chosen to step up and contribute when it comes to a range of issues.
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers QB and Kansas City Chiefs star are two of the many football athletes who run their own NGOs to help those coming from underprivileged backgrounds. Here's a list of five NFL stars who have taken it upon themselves to make this a better world:

1] Patrick Mahomes
Kansas City Chiefs star Patrick Mahomes runs an NGO called "15 And The Mahomies." The non-profit organization was launched back in 2019. It aims to help kids coming from low-income and deprived backgrounds turn around their careers for a better livelihood. "15 And The Mahomies" has donated more than $1.6 million since its launch, to different communities in Kansas City, according to BGCA. Moreover, the foundation offers three programs "Read For 15", "Volunteer For 15" and "15 For 15."
2] Baker Mayfield
In addition to Patrick Mahomes, Baker Mayfield is another successful NFL star who owns an NGO. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers star along with his wife Emily launched a foundation called "The Baker & Emily Mayfield" in July 2023. The foundation focuses on offering different opportunities to students, athletes and underprivileged individuals in local communities.
Talking about opportunities, the foundation offered a donation of $17,900 to Space Cost Vipers, a local high school football team in September. The donation didn't just help the team survive but they also achieved great success.
3] Jordan Love
Green Bay Packers star Jordan Love launched "Hands of 10ve" in May. According to its website, the foundation helps youth participate in multiple sports, in addition to shining a spotlight on suicide and mental health struggles. Love was motivated by his late father Orbin, who lost his life to suicide.

Kansas City Chiefs star Travis Kelce owns a charitable foundation called "87 Running," which was launched in November 2015. According to the foundation's website, it helps underserved youth with guidance and mentorship with careers. It also provides multiple enrichment opportunities to communities in Kansas City through athletics programs and fundraising.

Falcons QB Kirk Cousins launched the "Julie and Kirk Cousins Foundation" with his wife, Julie, in 2018. The foundation works with multiple charitable organizations, including Adventure Bags, City of Refuge and Discovery Church. The couple announced the launch of their foundation via a Facebook post.
