With old features behind a paywall, Twitter might no longer be the same app. In fact, even NFL stars aren't ready to pay for Elon Musk's Twitter. Kansas City Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes, along with many athletes, are not looking forward to the Twitter Blue.
Old verified accounts may no longer be allowed to keep their blue checkmark, and will have to pay some amount to retain their status. Apparently, subscriptions for an individual will be $8 per month along with tax for the badge.
There will be added benefits for the membership like two-factor verification. Businesses who operate through Twitter will be charged more. Unverified companies will need to shell out $1000/month to maintain their gold tick with the account.
Despite Musk's optimistic approach, many have criticized the upcoming changes.

#5 Michael Thomas' not interested in the blue tick
New Orleans Saints WR Michael Thomas wasn't personally interested in the new blue check. Thomas laughed at the new change, seeming unaffected by the upcoming payments.

Philadelphia Eagles cornerback Darius Slay tweeted something similar, telling Twitter that they can happily take away his blue check. Of course, Slay was concerned over fans tagging the wrong name after a game.

Dallas Cowboys star Micah Parsons, who is also fairly active on Twitter, clearly stated that he was going to make some troll accounts. Considering there will be multiple blue tick accounts, it might be easier for haters (and fans) to impersonate their favorite celebrity.
