5 superstar QBs who could leave their current teams in 2023 feat. Tom Brady, Aaron Rodgers

The NFL offseason is now in full swing for several teams, with the likes of Tom Brady and Aaron Rodgers having their futures seriously questioned. Both are coming to the pointy end of their careers, but could they be in a group of star quarterbacks to move on this offseason?

Granted, this happens most years with aging stars. However, this offseason, there are a host of veteran quarterbacks who could be in different colors in a few months.

Who wins the Super Bowl?

Given the state of the NFL and how pass-friendly it is, teams are clamoring for a quality quarterback, leading us to the top five quarterbacks who could be on the move this offseason.

Let's get to it.

#1 Derek Carr - Las Vegas Raiders

The Carr situation is an interesting one. After going 6-9 this season, Carr was benched for the final few games in favor of Jared Stidham.

For all intents and purposes, that signaled the end of Carr's career with the Raiders. Several teams are in hot pursuit, with the Washington Commanders popping up the most in the rumor mill.

#2 Lamar Jackson - Baltimore Ravens

This is perhaps the most interesting of them all. Lamar was injured for the majority of the second half of the season, but contract talks dating back to last offseason appear to have stalled.

Adds that his sense is that it would be the "Exclusive Franchise Tag" which prevents teams from signing him. https://t.co/C2JBWrIoVw

With the Ravens stating publicly that they fully expect Jackson to stay in 2023, with each passing day that his deal remains unsigned, the likelihood of him staying decreases. A host of teams would be interested in signing Jackson if the Ravens don't. Rumors of an exclusive franchise tag being placed on Lamar look increasingly likely.

#3 Jimmy Garoppolo - San Francisco 49ers

This one has dragged on for the last few years, but could we finally see Jimmy G. on another team? That almost looks to be a certainty. With Trey Lance and now Brock Purdy on the roster, Garoppolo is on the out.

The 49ers QB situation will be fascinating this offseason:

Brock Purdy: Facing 6-month recovery for a torn UCL

Trey Lance: Rehabbing from second ankle surgery, expected back by OTAs

Jimmy Garoppolo: Set to be a free agent

Several teams would clearly be interested in signing him as a veteran quarterback who has done everything bar win a Super Bowl as a starter. The chasing pack for his signature this offseason is going to be quite large.

#4 Aaron Rodgers - Green Bay Packers

Every year this seems to come up, but this offseason feels like the time when Rodgers and the Packers say their goodbyes. After a poor season that saw Green Bay miss the playoffs, the team needs to see what it has at the quarterback position with Jordan Love.

Aaron Rodgers’ future in Green Bay appears to be murky. Here’s a quote from Rodgers on @PatMcAfeeShow

“It sounds like there’s already conversations going on that aren’t involving me, which are interesting.”

Several teams, including the New York Jets, the Tennessee Titans, and even the Dallas Cowboys, have been mentioned as potential landing spots for Rodgers.

#5 Tom Brady - Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Tom Brady and his playing future have been grabbing all the headlines the past couple of years. Well, now, as he enters the offseason of his 23rd NFL campaign, it is again at the forefront.

Where will Brady go in 2023? Both the Raiders and the 49ers have been mentioned as rock-solid options. Or will Brady finally retire?

It all points to a fascinating offseason dominated by star quarterbacks and their playing futures.
