5 things you may have missed from Week 14 NFL games feat. Saquon Barkley's record-eclipsing night

It's been a crazy NFL Week 14, to say the least. Teams such as the Detroit Lions and the Philadelphia Eagles clinched playoff spots, the Kansas City Chiefs won their division and clinched a playoff spot on a doinked field goa and some NFL players have reached or are nearing NFL milestones.

Each week, some surprises/crazy things happen, and Week 14 was no different in that regard.

Week 14 will end tonight, with the Dallas Cowboys hosting the Cincinnati Bengals in a game of two underperforming teams.

Here's a look at five notable things that happened on Sunday.

The NFL had it all yesterday. The Jacksonville Jaguars picked up their third win of the season, the Miami Dolphins edged the New York Jets in overtime and Philadelphia Eagles running back Saquon Barkley continued to run wild.

#1 - Saquon Barkley set Eagles' single-season rushing record

Saquon Barkley signing with the Philadelphia Eagles this offseason could be their best move yet. With 124 yards against the Carolina Panthers yesterday, Barkley set the Eagles' single-season rushing record.

Barkley is now up to 1,623 yards, breaking the previous franchise record set by LeSean McCoy in 2013 (1,607).

The Eagles also won their ninth game in a row, which ties a franchise record for most consecutive wins. They've earned that milestone three times before (1960, 2003 and 2017).

#2 - Tua Tagovailoa is on pace to break Drew Brees' all-time completion percentage record in a single season

Miami Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa has been a different player since returning from his concussion.

Tagovailoa leads the league with a 74.5% completion rate in 2024, on track to break Drew Brees' 2018 NFL record of 74.4%. He has completed at least 70.0% of passes in seven of nine games this season.

The Dolphins' 32-26 win over the Jets featured a "scorigami," marking the first time in the NFL a game ended with that score.

#3 - Kansas City Chiefs won an NFL record 15th-straight one-possession game

The Kansas City Chiefs have had all the luck when it comes down to games that come down to the wire.

Trailing the Los Angeles Chargers 17-16 with seconds remaining in the Sunday Night Football game, kicker Matthew Wright hit a game-winning 31-yard field goal after he hit the upright, and the ball fell past the bars.

With the win, the Chiefs have now won 15 straight one-possession games, an NFL record. They've beaten the Chargers three times out of those 15 games.

#4 - Josh Allen becomes first player in NFL to rush and throw for three touchdowns each in a single game

Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen continued his impressive 2024 season yesterday against the Los Angeles Rams. While the Bills lost in a shootout 44-42, Allen set history, adding to his touchdown total on the season.

Allen became the first player in the NFL to throw for three touchdowns and run for touchdowns in a single game. He completed 22-of-37 passes for 342 yards and three touchdowns. On the ground, he rushed for 82 yards on 10 carries and scored three times.

#5 - Raiders' Brock Bowers set the single-season record for most receptions by a rookie tight end

Las Vegas Raiders rookie tight end Brock Bowers is having arguably the best rookie season for a tight end.

With his three-catch, 49-yard performance yesterday against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Bowers broke the rookie tight end record for most receptions in a single season, breaking Sam LaPorta's record of 86 catches a season ago.

Bowers is first in the NFL in receptions (87), fourth in receiving yards (933) and has four receiving touchdowns.
