A look at Tom Brady and Gisele's unique Valentine's Day posts before divorce

Tom Brady and Gisele Bundchen were arguably one of the biggest power couples in the world until their divorce last October after 13 years of marriage. Prior to their divorce, the pair always enjoyed Valentine's Day together, expressing their love through social media. Last year on the holiday, Gisele surprised the former Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback with a gift of love.

The gift in question was the planting of trees in the seven-time Super Bowl winner's name via The Nature Conservancy. Gisele wrote in the caption of the Instagram post about her gift to her then-husband.

Gisele said:

"Happy Valentines day hubby! Hope you like your gift. Let's grow some love and make the world greener!"

The message said:

"This lasting gift of tree planting will not only put trees in the ground; it will help create healthy forests that filter clean air, provide fresh drinking water, help curb climate change, and provide homes for thousands of species of plants and animals."

Not to be outdone, Tom Brady donated trees on behalf of Gisele to The Nature Conservancy as well for Valentine's Day:

The love between the former couple last Valentine's Day was visible for everyone to see as they looked happier than ever. However, the question is why did the couple decide to end their marriage?

Why Tom Brady and Gisele are not together during Valentine's Day this year?

One major reason the couple likely split is that Tom Brady returned to play in the 2022 season after initially retiring ahead of the season. Gisele was rumored to want the former New England Patriots star home more. She moved out of their Florida home and went to Costa Rica due to her anger over him playing another NFL season.

Ultimately, the divorce happened and, per People magazine, Gisele is happy for Brady now that he has retired for the second time.

An excerpt from the magazine read:

"Gisele moved on with her life quite a while ago and is happy about whatever Tom chooses to do with his life now."

The 45-year-old Tom Brady has moved on as well and has a contract ready for him as an NFL analyst at Fox Sports in the future. Nonetheless, the former couple have moved on and are keeping the focus on their children: daughter Vivian Lake, 10, and son Benjamin Rein, 12.
