James Cook stats today: Bills RB receiving yards, touchdowns and more in Week 13 vs. 49ers
Running back James Cook has been one of the best additions the Buffalo Bills have made during the decade. As they looked for options to build an offense around Josh Allen, they found a player who could contribute in all phases and be a difference-maker on all three downs.
In a snow-heavy game, where running the ball with success would be vital for both teams to win, the Bills absolutely dominated on the ground. Josh Allen threw just 17 passes, while Buffalo ran the ball 38 times. And they did with excellent success, getting 5.8 yards per carry and three touchdowns.
Cook was their best runner and he had a fantastic game. It was another proof that he's becoming a key piece for Joe Brady's offense, and he added one more touchdown to his 2024 account.
James Cook's stats vs 49ers
A summary of James Cook's stats for the Bills against the 49ers in Week 13 of the 2024 NFL season is given below.
- Carries: 14
- Rushing yards: 107
- Rushing touchdowns: 1
- Targets: 1
- Receptions: 1
- Receiving yards: 13
- Receiving touchdowns 0
It's true that his numbers could feel a bit skewed as he broke a 65-yard run, but in a game played entirely in the snow, breaking long runs is always difficult. And he was able to get himself a big play:
A shared backfield with Ray Davis was also a good thing for the team. The starter broke the 100-yard mark and got himself a touchdown, but Davis also had 11 carries, rushed for 63 yards and found the end zone as well.
This was the third time during the 2024 season that Cook had at least 100 total yards. He did it in the first week of the season, and he also did it against the Seattle Seahawks in late October. He continues to be a playmaker for the Bills, with 12 total touchdowns.
Playoff football is played in the cold, and running the ball efficiently is key to winning in January. Buffalo did a great job of controlling the game through the ground in the snow, and their running back group did not disappoint.
