Aaron Rodgers injury update: Should fantasy managers be concerned about Jets QB for Fantasy Football Week 5?

Aaron Rodgers has offered an eyebrow-raising update on his knee following an uphill battle against the Denver Broncos defense on Sunday. The New York Jets quarterback posted his worst performance in four games this season. He was sacked five times while completing 24 of his 42 pass attempts for 224 yards and zero touchdowns.

The Jets ended up losing the game 10-9. If this injury doesn't get better, they might lose something more valuable for the next couple of games. Rodgers shared an update on his knee situation on the Pat McAfee Show.

"I'm feeling a little banged up. Took some shots, the knee's a little swollen," he said.

Rodgers noted a couple of factors that affected the Jets' game plan.

"Obviously, Denver has a really solid defense, but the weather and their defense and our lack of execution made us... Pretty bad combination that we put only nine points," Rodgers added.

At his age and after all the years Rodgers has under his belt, injuries hit harder. He has repeated this message since the game finished, and it doesn't seem like he's healing properly. This could be bad news for the Jets and fantasy managers counting on Rodgers to take their teams to the promised land.

"I’m banged up a little bit, but I’m OK," Rodgers told reporters on Sunday. "I’ve got some stuff with both legs, so I’ll get in the hot tub here in a little bit."

Aaron Rodgers injury update: What happened to Jets' QB?

One can argue that there wasn't only one play that hurt Aaron Rodgers, but there was one that raised more concern at MetLife Stadium. The four-time NFL MVP limped off the field in the 4th quarter after being sacked for the fourth time by the Denver Broncos defense.

He was evaluated by trainers on the sidelines before returning to the field. To make things worse, he was immediately sacked in the next drive to complete a day to forget for him and the Jets.

All the pain Rodgers is enduring now responds to five sacks and 14 QB hits from last Sunday, which is a lot knowing his age and how his season ended in 2023. He missed the entire campaign due to an Achilles injury. The Jets must find a way to offer him better protection or there'll be more reasons to worry.
