Aaron Rodgers, Terry Bradshaw among legends snubbed by Patrick Mahomes for his Mount Rushmore of QBs

Patrick Mahomes is arguably the best quarterback in the NFL and on his way to becoming one of the best quarterbacks in NFL history.

On the New Heights podcast, co-hosted by Mahomes' teammate, Travis Kelce, and his brother, Jason, he was asked about his Mount Rushmore of NFL quarterbacks.

Mahomes left out some notable quarterbacks such as Aaron Rodgers and Terry Bradshaw and said:

"Obviously Tom. Tom is on there. Joe Montana. He's on there. Four Super Bowls. I'll put him on there. Then, you got to throw Peyton. Peyton Manning. Probably be on there. And then it's to me right now. It's probably between Dan Marino and John Elway and I don't know who that fourth one is. I'm gonna give it to Elway just because he has the rings."

He added:

“But Marino, if you look at the stats dude, his first season, 48 touchdowns in that era? Dude the best quarterback season has to be in history, I don’t care what anyone says. That thing is one of the most special seasons."

Patrick Mahomes added:

"Every single time that "I have been putting up and breaking these records, it’s like Dan Marino had 170 touchdowns in three years. I’m like, What! How? I thought they ran the ball back then.”

Looking at the Kansas City Chiefs star's Mount Rushmore, the omissions of both Rodgers and Bradshaw do stand out. Rodgers has won one Super Bowl in his career as Mahomes, but the Green Bay Packers quarterback has just that lone Super Bowl appearance.

Their stats are also very similar, looking at their first five seasons as starters:

For Mahomes, he's just 20 touchdowns shy of tying Bradshaw's career touchdown total of 212. The former Pittsburgh Steelers star does have four Super Bowl rings as the Kansas City Chiefs quarterback has just one ring.

Nonetheless, there is a strong possibility that Patrick Mahomes will end up on a Mount Rushmore of his own, if not already.

Will Patrick Mahomes end up on the Mount Rushmore of NFL QBs when his career is over?

The 2018 NFL MVP will be playing in his third Super Bowl this season as the Chiefs face the Philadelphia Eagles. Compared to those on his personal Mount Rushmore, only Dan Marino doesn't have a Super Bowl victory.

At 27 years old, the former Texas Tech quarterback has already twice led the league in touchdowns, including this season with 41. His 76 touchdowns in his first three seasons as Marino (98) and Manning (85) has had more in their first three seasons in the league.

Looking at Brady and Montana, Patrick Mahomes needs six more to tie Brady and three to tie Montana in Super Bowl wins. Let's see if the Chiefs quarterback can get there as he has plenty of seasons ahead of him.
