AJ Brown vs JuJu Smith-Schuster: Which star WR had the better 2022 NFL season?
JuJu Smith-Schuster trolled James Bradberry over his Super Bowl penalty and AJ Brown didn't appreciate it. What began as a roast of Bradberry quickly turned on Smith-Schuster as many Philadelphia Eagles players came to his defense.
AJ Brown was perhaps the most vocal of those players, saying that Patrick Mahomes had resurrected Smith-Schuster's career after he wasn't doing much in Pittsburgh. The Kansas City Chiefs wideout was on a one-year deal with the team.
With the feud between the two wideouts, we look at them and compare their just-concluded campaigns, with both having made Super Bowl appearances.
AJ Brown's Pro Bowl-worthy 2022 NFL season
AJ Brown was traded to the Eagles from the Tennessee Titans, which paid immediate dividends. It's hard to say how much of the Eagles' ascension to elite offense was simply growth for Jalen Hurts, but AJ Brown made an immediate impact.
Over the course of the season, he recorded 88 catches for 1,496 yards and 11 touchdowns. He turned the Eagles' offense, which was rather run-heavy, into one of the most dynamic attacks in the NFL.
He performed especially well in a revenge game against the Titans where he put up eight catches for 119 yards and two touchdowns.
JuJu Smith-Schuster revives his NFL career with the Chiefs
JuJu Smith-Schuster left Pittsburgh in free agency, but couldn't find a long-term home. Fortunately, Patrick Mahomes and company were in the market for wide receivers after the Tyreek Hill trade.
Smith-Schuster had a very solid season for Kansas City. He recorded 78 catches for 933 yards and three touchdowns.
In the Super Bowl, he played a key role in the second half. In total, he had seven catches for 53 yards, most of which came after Rihanna's halftime show.
Perhaps the biggest moment of his young career was when he ran the route on Bradberry that forced him to commit the hold that effectively ended the game.
