Antonio Gibson vs D'Onta Foreman: Who should I start for Week 3 fantasy football?

Antonio Gibson and D'Onta Foreman are two options managers might be considering in Week 3. However, for those on the fence about either player or undecided on whether they need to turn to the waiver wire instead, here is a look at the running backs.

Antonio Gibson is backing up Rhamondre Stevenson this week. After seeing Stevenson go ham last week with 81 yards and a touchdown, it might make sense to get in on the running back room. However, according to Sportskeeda's Start/Sit Optimizer, doing so would be a massive risk. Gibson is projected to earn just 5.6 points in the contest.

Nick Chubb is out of the picture, at least for now. As such, D'Onta Foreman is set to get some carries behind Jerome Ford. However, according to Sportskeeda's Start/Sit Optimizer, expecting a big output from him is extremely risky. Foreman is projected to earn just 4.3 points this weekend against the New York Giants.

If you have other options including players on the waiver wire, it might be worth exploring those options.

Gibson and D'onta Foreman are both in line to be productive in only the most unorthodox situations. In most cases, picking up a different player on the waiver wire would make sense. However, managers backed into a corner would be better off using Gibson over D'Onta Foreman.

Sportskeeda's Start/Sit Optimizer has projected Gibson to earn 5.6 points compared to Foreman's 4.3 points. Gibson is projected to earn about 20 yards on the ground and have a 10% chance at scoring a touchdown. Meanwhile, Foreman is projected to earn about 24 yards and have a 20% chance to score.

However, the gap appears to be in favor of Gibson in the receiving game. Gibson is projected to earn between one and two catches for about 11 yards with a 10% chance at scoring. Foreman, meanwhile, has a 40% chance to earn one catch and if he does, will earn less than 4 yards. The margins are slim between the already seemingly low-tier options.

It will be up to them to prove the expectations wrong, but with starters lining up ahead of both running backs, expect few carries throughout both games for either player.
