“Like a pig in sh*t” – Brief history of Aaron Rodgers’ most patronizing quotes since Packers QB’s Ayahuasca retreat
While most have been quietly grinding away, Aaron Rodgers has repeatedly found his way to the front page for his insulting and patronizing comments. Since his hallucinogenic Peru visit in 2020, the quarterback has had no shortage of condescending utterances of noise. Here's a brief look at some of his most controversial comments in recent years.
This year, it was learned that the quarterback had gone on a spiritual journey with hallucinogenic drugs in 2020. He has repeatedly credited his quality play on the field to the drugs. However, since the drugs were ingested, the quarterback has arguably gotten more of a positive self-image to the point where he was comfortable confronting the media on multiple occasions.
According to NFL.com, in November of 2021, it became known that Rodgers had been misleading just about everyone on his vaccination status against Covid-19. While millions were following medical advice in simply taking the shots, the quarterback had sided with those taking alternative medicines.
When asked about his vaccination status, he repeatedly said he was "immunized" against the virus, attempting to dupe both sides into believing he was on their side. Of course, this backfired when he fell ill with the virus, ultimately letting the cat out of the bag.
On January 5, 2022, the quarterback was in the news again for disrespecting the media. Per the Washington Post, the quarterback called sportscaster and analyst Hub Arkush "an absolute bum" when the latter didn't vote for him for MVP.
What are Aaron Rodgers' most recent comments?
On October 25, 2022, Rodgers was in the news for smugly responding to those who doubted him after a tough 3-4 start to the season. Here's how he put it on The Pat McAfee Show:
"Well, they can say whatever they want. Nothing's going to sway that opinion, I don't think... I think people who are bitter and angry, they kind of want to sit in it and wallow in it a little bit if you will. Like a pig in s***. Just kind of enjoy it for a little bit. Let it wash all over them until they're ready to get washed off."
Rodgers will be looking to add a good performance to his words to quiet detractors with a big performance against the Buffalo Bills, who many call the hottest team in football. The game kicks off on October 30 at 8:20 PM EST.
