Broncos Super Bowl winner Derek Wolfe reveals shocking details of pre-game drug usage

Derek Wolfe carved a great career for himself in the NFL, playing nine seasons. In a recent interview on the Joe Rogan Experience podcast, Wolfe shared how he would get ready to play games. More specifically, he shared how he used a combination of mushrooms and Adderall to get hyped.

Wolfe said:

"Before games, I was taking micro doses so I'm microdosed and I might like taking mushrooms before games so I'm taking mushrooms. Yeah I'm f**king taking mushrooms and Adderall."

He continued:

"The focus is out of control and I would just, like, before games. I would like get myself pissed off so I just would start thinking about my childhood. Like the s**t that I went through as a kid and they would f**cking get me in this rage mode now it was like this crazy controlled rage."

Derek Wolfe's pre-game ritual sounds shocking, but it's not the only shocking thing the former Cincinnati Bearcats star has done recently. In January of this year, Wolfe killed a mountain lion with a bow while in Colorado. The lion reportedly attacked the family dogs, hiding under a deck.

So, he and a hunting guide set forth and searched for the lion all through the snowy mountain. Wolfe noted that he shot the lion with a bow when they found it.

Derek Wolfe and his NFL career

Wolfe was drafted in the second round of the 2012 NFL Draft by the Denver Broncos. The Lisbon, Ohio native played the first eight seasons with the Broncos and racked up 33 sacks, 15 passes defended, and a forced fumble.

The defensive lineman played a pivotal role in the Broncos winning Super Bowl 50 in the 2015 season.

Derek Wolfe had two-and-a-half sacks in the playoffs that season, including a half sack in the Super Bowl versus the Carolina Panthers. His final season in the NFL would come in 2020 with the Baltimore Ravens. In 14 games, Wolf had 51 tackles, two passes defended and one sack.
