Nick Chubb trade spots: Exploring possibilities for Browns star after RB is reportedly put on choppingĀ block
Nick Chubb has spent the last year on a journey back to the gridiron. However, the Cleveland Browns running back could find himself on a new team with the trade deadline approaching. The Browns just upset the Baltimore Ravens, but at 2-6, making a playoff run is extremely unlikely.
As such, making the move to trade Chubb is worth exploring for the Browns as they consider their options for 2025. According to the Athletic, the Browns could part with Chubb, with Jon Machota proposing a move to the Dallas Cowboys.
Another potential option is the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. There isn't a lot of clarity in the team's backfield right now and adding Chubb would help bring some.
The Buccaneers just lost Chris Godwin and with so many wide receiver pieces off the board, adding a running back would help bolster the offense in some fashion. The Buccaneers are in win-now mode, so they should feel like they can drop some trade capital.
Exploring more trade options for Nick Chubb
When it comes to landing spots for Nick Chubb, the options are somewhat limited. There are plenty of teams with struggling rushing offenses, but most of those teams are more likely to be sellers instead of buyers.
However, there are two teams worth taking a good hard look at. The first is the Minnesota Vikings. They are clearly in the thick of things at 5-2 but having dealt with an Aaron Jones injury this year, creating a one-two Jones-Chubb punch could be deadly. It also preserves Jones and Chubb for the long haul.
The other option is the Los Angeles Chargers, who have lost Gus Edwards for an unclear amount of time. Kimani Vidal offers a youthful pop for the rushing room, but if Jim Harbaugh wants a veteran to tote the rock as the playoffs get closer, he could do worse than Chubb.
Additionally, the Houston Texans are a team worth looking at as a potential Chubb landing spot. With Stefon Diggs out, the wide receiver trade market drying up, and the door slamming shut on trades on Nov. 5, bolstering the depth in the event of a Joe Mixon injury seems wise.
If Mixon goes down, the Texans would have a running back with little wear and tear on the season and wouldn't skip a beat.
