Cam’Ron tired of Deshaun Watson “stealing money” as pressure creeps up on $230,000,000 Browns QB
Deshaun Watson has been under the microscope in his first full season as the starting quarterback for the Cleveland Browns. The three-time Pro Bowler has been under fire for not being on the field as much this season.
Rapper Cam'Ron called out Watson on the popular online sports show 'It Is What It Is' about his massive contract. The rapper commented on his play in the Browns' Week 7 game and his disappointment thus far:
"I'm tired of Deshaun Watson stealing money. I had your back through the whole handjob allegations. You was one for five, one interception. Now we watched in the backup quarterback the rest of game, they did not give you 250 million guaranteed for this."
"You didn't play for a season and a half. You should be able to take a hit and keep it moving. I'm very disappointed."
Watson was knocked in the first half of the game against the Indianapolis Colts and was given a concussion test. He was cleared to play the second half but head coach Kevin Stefanski chose to stick with backup P.J. Walker.
The quarterback signed a five-year, $230 million fully guaranteed contract after Cleveland traded for him. Below is where his salary ranks this season amongst other franchise signal-callers in the NFL this season:
He has started just 10 games since arriving to the Browns. He missed the first 11 games of last season serving a suspension for violating the NFL's personal conduct policy.
Will Deshaun Watson start Week 8 for the Browns?
Despite not finishing the game versus the Colts, Deshaun Watson is expected to be under center as the Browns face the Seattle Seahawks.
Stefanski noted that the quarterback is day-to-day. It is uncertain whether Watson has fully recovered from his shoulder injury.
So far this season, he has thrown for 683 yards, four touchdowns, and three interceptions. The Browns are 6 - 4 in games started by Watson over the last two seasons.
We'll see if the former Clemson Tigers star can bounce back against Seattle on the road.
