Could Caleb Williams end up with the Los Angeles Rams in 2024?

USC quarterback Caleb Williams could very well be one of the top players taken in the 2024 NFL Draft. It's possible he could wind up being selected by the Los Angeles Rams.

Williams has enjoyed a sensational career at Oklahoma and USC thus far. As a freshman at Oklahoma in 2021, he replaced a struggling Spencer Rattler and threw for 1,912 yards, 21 touchdowns and four interceptions. He then transferred to USC for his sophomore year.

Last season, Williams was the best player in all of college football. The Washington, D.C. native won the Heisman Trophy after producing 4,537 yards, 42 passing touchdowns and five interceptions. He also rushed for 382 yards and 10 touchdowns on the ground. The Trojans finished with a 11-3 record overall and went 8-1 in the Pac-12.

The 2024 draft is over a year away, so who knows what will happen. But if Caleb Williams does find his way to the Rams, there won't be a lot of disappointed fans.

Could Caleb Williams be a key part of a Rams rebuild?

Two seasons ago, the Rams were on top of the football world, going 12-5 during the regular season and later knocking off Joe Burrow and the Cincinnati Bengals in Super Bowl LVI.

Then last season, they struggled with a 5-12 record and failed to reach the playoffs. Key players like quarterback Matthew Stafford, defensive tackle Aaron Donald and Super Bowl MVP receiver Cooper Kupp all suffered injuries.

It appears that the Rams could now be looking to rebuild. Linebackers Bobby Wagner and Leonard Floyd were both released, and there have been rumors that the team is attempting to trade Stafford. Star cornerback Jalen Ramsey could also be on the move this offseason.

Rams general manager Les Snead denied reports, though, that the team was trying to move Stafford.

“We’re going to definitely rely on Matthew, he’s definitely one of our pillars.” - Les Snead addressing Rams QB situation today with us. “He’s definitely someone we’re going to rely on … as we remodel this.” Says he says remodel bc they aren’t “bulldozing house down.”

But as we all know, people tend to change their minds.

Even if the Rams don't trade Stafford or move other key pieces like Ramsey or Donald, the team could still struggle next season due to injuries and end up landing one of the top picks in the 2024 NFL Draft.

If that happens, the Rams could be in position to select Caleb Williams. Williams would probably be the first pick in this year's draft, but since he has only played two years of college ball, he won't be eligible until next year.
