Deebo Samuel injury update: Latest on 49ers WR's status for Week 4 Fantasy Football
49ers star Deebo Samuel missed San Francisco's Week 3 duel against the LA Rams. His team succumbed to Matthew Stafford and company in the final seconds of the fourth quarter.
They hope to get Samuel back for this weekend's New England matchup. The All-Pro is not only San Fran's top wideout, he's also a fantasy league favorite.
Deebo Samuel injury update
NFL insider Ian Rapoport shared an X video of Deebo Samuel practicing on Thursday, which is good news for the Niners.
This comes after Samuel was listed as a DNP for Wednesday's practice. Deebo injured his calf during the team's Week 2 loss against Minnesota, joining teammates Christian McCaffrey (Achilles) and George Kittle (hamstring) as wounded members of San Francisco's offense.
In addition to Samuel, Javon Hargrave, Trent Williams and Dee Winters didn't practice on Wednesday. Kittle participated only partially, while quarterback Brock Purdy (back) participated fully.
When will Deebo Samuel return to the field?
Having Samuel in practice is a positive sign for the 49ers, but unless something extraordinary happens, he'll be out this week. The wideout should miss at least one or two more contests.
Jauan Jennings is expected to take over as the team's WR1. No. 15 caught 11 passes last week for 175 yards and three touchdowns. Brandon Aiyuk contributed five receptions for 48 yards.
If George Kittle returns, the Niners will be in a favorible position against the Patriots, who were dominated by the New York Jets.
Following a season-opening win vs. the Jets, the Niners fell against the Vikings and Rams. They need a win to even their 1-2 record. With Christian McCaffrey out, the 49ers found a new gem in Jordan Mason. However, they'll likely need a healthy roster to earn another Super Bowl appearance.
