Derrick Henry stats tonight: How did the Ravens RB fare against Bengals in Week 10?

Derrick Henry has had a phenomenal start to his Ravens career and was looking to continue that against the Bengals in Week 10 of the 2024 NFL season. This Thursday Night Football game was the renewal of a great divisional rivalry and it lived up to its billing.

The Bengals were looking to win the game to draw to a 5-5 record and not leave the field with a losing record for the first time this season. It was here on the road that Joe Burrow injured his wrist last year and this was his chance to get revenge.

But standing on the other side were the 6-3 Ravens playing in their own stadium. Apart from a slow start with two losses to begin the season and a fluke loss to the Browns, Baltimore has looked unstoppable. Much of it has been down to how well Derrick Henry has played; the running back already has more than 1,000 yards this season and came into this week with a touchdown in every match.

This is how he fared in this AFC North faceoff.

Derrick Henry stats tonight vs Bengals

A summary of Derrick Henry's stats for the Ravens against the Bengals in Week 10 of the 2024 NFL season is given below.

  • Carries: 16
  • Yards: 68
  • Average: 4.3
  • TD: 1
  • Long: 11

The first half began with the Bengals in possession and they scored on their first drive. When the Ravens got the ball back, they went three-and-out.

That was the story of the first half for Baltimore and Derrick Henry. Knowing the threat he possesses, Cincinnati kept him in their sights. Every time he got the ball, defenders converged on him to limit his yardage.

In the first half, the Bengals dominated possession and went into the break 14-7 ahead, having dominated possession. The Ravens punted three times in four drives, showing how ineffective both their passing and rushing attack was. But the threat was always there as they scored a touchdown the one time they did not punt.

However, all of that came through the air and Derrick Henry did not really get going in the first half. The story continued in the second half and Cincinnati scored first. But then they fumbled the ball, Lamar Jackson made a ridiculous run to pick up first-and-goal, and everyone knew what was coming next. Baltimore handed the ball to Derrick Henry and he kept up his record this season of finding the endzone every game he has played.

However, at the time, he had 41 yards in 11 touches, showing that the Bengals were successful in limiting his overall production. But the Ravens got him not just for his overall stats but his success in big moments.

With the Ravens trailing 21-20, after Justin Tucker had missed a one-point conversion, Lamar Jackson methodically led a drive down the field. He was helped by Derrick Henry, with one particular run picking up nine yards on first down. That allowed the quarterback to scramble and get a fresh set of downs with the next play.

It eventually led to a touchdown to make the score 26-21 to the home team and they lined up for a two-point conversion. The Bengals kept their eye on Derrick Henry from close range knowing the threat he possesses, but that just allowed Lamar Jackson to waltz into the endzone. The effect the former Titans running back brings to this franchise cannot be measured just in numbers.

Derrick Henry seemed to get stronger as the game moved towards its conclusion and he showed it on another drive too when the score was 28-28 with just over three minutes remaining. As the Ravens wanted to burn the clock, they kept giving the ball to the running back and there was an instance where he picked up 10 yards on two carries to keep the possession going. It also forced the Bengals to burn a timeout.

However, it did not matter as Baltimore scored a touchdown at the end of that drive to go ahead 35-28, showing how important in the grand scheme of things the running back is.
