Did Jon Jones ever consider an NFL career? UFC icon tells all in latest interview

Jon "Bones" Jones is widely considered one of the greatest mixed martial artists of all-time. The 35-year-old is a two-time light heavyweight champion with a total of 11 title defenses. After defeating Shogun Rua by TKO at UFC 128, he became the promotion's youngest champion ever at age 23.

Jones, as many people know, is the older brother of NFL star, Chandler Jones, and the younger brother of former NFL defensive tackle, Arthur Jones.

Both Arthur and Chandler have had very successful careers. Arthur played in the league from 2010-2017 and won Super Bowl XLVII with the Baltimore Ravens.

Chandler began his career in 2012 with the Patriots and has been a four-time Pro Bowler, two-time All-Pro, and won Super Bowl XLIX with the New England Patriots.

Being an athlete runs in the Jones family, and so does football. However, Jon recently opened up to TMZ in an interview and stated that he sucked at football unlike his brothers.

Jones said:

"I absolutely sucked on the football field. I was no good at all. I didn't play until my senior year [of high school]. I was always on the team, but I never got to play. I sucked at football. I made a hell of a benchwarmer, though."
