Did Patrick Mahomes lose Super Bowl trophy? Fresh report reveals update on Chiefs parade

Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs won their second Super Bowl in four seasons and fans showed up at the parade. The Lombardi Trophy made an appearance at the parade in Kansas City and everyone was having a good time. Mahomes gave the trophy to the crowd, causing a bit of panic. However, new footage reveals it was just a replica the quarterback gave to the crowd.

Vinnie Garofalo, a Chiefs superfan, and his Kansas City-focused bar in Buffalo, Casey’s Black Rock, spoke to the Daily Mail. Garofalo noted that he was waving the duplicate trophy in the air. He was in awe of the similarity to the real one and had to take a photo with the actual trophy.

Garofalo said:

"I own a Chiefs backer bar in Buffalo - Casey’s Black Rock - and am a Chiefs super fan for 30+ years. I decided to go to my second parade in four years and to bring my replica Lombardi trophy along for the ride. We secured a good spot, waited it out and were up front for the parade. We showed the players the trophy and it was mayhem after that."

Luckily for Chiefs fans, the real one is safe and sound. Patrick Mahomes avoided an ordeal similar to what Tom Brady faced at the Tampa Bay Buccaneers Super Bowl LV parade in 2021.

Tom Brady chimed in on Patrick Mahomes and the Super Bowl Trophy incident

If there is a Super Bowl-winning quarterback who knows about the hardware, it is Brady. The recently retired quarterback backed Mahomes' behavior during the parade, giving the handshake emoji in a quote tweet:

Looks like appropriate parade behavior to me 🤝 @PatrickMahomes twitter.com/shannonsharpee…

In 2021, the then-Buccaneers quarterback tossed the trophy into the Atlantic Ocean during the Super Bowl parade. Brady seemed to be quite tipsy as Mahomes was at the Chiefs parade this year.

However, Mahomes might have to avoid other instances as the Chiefs could be having a lot of Super Bowl parades in the future.
