Pacheco attended Rutgers University where he played football for four years on the Rutgers Scarlet Knights football team. Having put in some good performances for his football team at Vineland High School, Pacheco received offers from other Universities such as Syracuse, Maryland, Virginia Tech, and others.
However, Pacheco had two main reasons to attend Rutgers. Firstly, he wanted to stay loyal to his home state of New Jersey and secondly, he wanted to make it easier for his mother to attend his games by going somewhere closer to home.
Overall throughout his four years in college, Pacheco received consistent playing time although he didn’t put up astronomical numbers like other top running backs. Furthermore, his receiving game was not as developed as it is today in the NFL.

After being drafted in the NFL, Pacheco was somewhat lucky to have entered the league as a player for the dominant Kansas City Chiefs team of late. With sound coaching and his work ethic, he had a good rookie year with the Chiefs rushing for a little over 800 yards and taking the ball to the end zone 5 times.
