Evan Engram vs Dallas Goedert vs Zach Ertz: Week 10 Start 'Em, Sit 'Em: Fantasy football projections for TEs

As Evan Engram, Dallas Goedert and Zach Ertz's fantasy football managers know, the bar for tight ends is different than for wide receivers and running backs. With half of the job consisting of holding blocks for other players, there are only so many opportunities to score fantasy football points for even the best tight ends.

However, making the wrong choice here could still be the difference between winning and losing. With the playoffs coming ever so slightly into range, every win counts. Here's a look at all three tight ends.

Evan Engram has spent much of the season recovering from injury. Since returning, he’s been consistently productive, though still searching for his first breakout game

Sportskeeda's Start/Sit Optimizer expects a productive outing against the Minnesota Vikings this week. He is expected to earn about 12.7 points this week. He is a solid option at tight end this week.

The Philadelphia Eagles might be down A.J. Brown this week. Even if he plays, he most likely won't be 100% healthy. As such, this has a chance of opening up Dallas Goedert for extra targets. That said, DeVonta Smith has been doing a respectable job picking up the slack, leaving reason for doubt.

Sportskeeda's Start/Sit Optimizer predicts Goedert will earn 9.1 points against the Dallas Cowboys. This expectation assumes he will still be usable, but not quite explosively this week. He's worth starting this week, but don't expect miracles.

Is Zach Ertz a good pick in Week 10?

Zach Ertz, another tight end with history with the Philadelphia Eagles, has been a solid option for the strong Commanders offense this season. However, he is only getting older each day, edging himself closer to the eventual decline.

However, he is projected to earn 9.2 points this week. As such, age shouldn't be a concern this week, and considering his matchup against a stout Steelers unit, 9.2 points would be an impressive haul. He's worthy of a start at tight end, but most likely not as a flex.

All three tight ends roughly land in the same ballpark in terms of production this week. However, per Sportskeeda's Start/Sit Optimizer, Evan Engram is expected to be the best option, with a projection of 12.7 points.

He faces a Minnesota Vikings squad that most likely will win big over the Jacksonville Jaguars. This won't be good for Jacksonville, but it gives plenty of opportunities to soak up second-half targets underneath against deep coverage.
