Led by Super Bowl winner and league MVP Patrick Mahomes, the Chiefs have been in contention every year since he entered the league in 2017.

Running back Jerick McKinnon spoke with Sportskeeda in an exclusive interview and spoke about Mahomes' leadership. He said that Mahomes seperates himself from any other quarterback he has played with due to his consistency and killer instinct.

McKinnon said:

"You know, the great thing about being on the team, this organization, is not just having Pat but the whole offense. You look across the board, and there’s so many playmakers. Whether it's starters or backups, there's playmakers and just to be in the backfield with Pat, you know, like you said he’s a great leader.
"He makes incredible plays, things you can't even really explain, so to be able to play with a guy like that, who, you know, who will be a future Hall of Famer, a guy who will hold records, so many records or you know, be close to the top, whatever the category is for the records.
"It's definitely amazing, man, and the thing I probably like about him the most is just his killer instinct man, his killer instinct, no matter how much we're down, what's going on, he always want to keep his foot on the gas, he is always consistently competing, no matter what the score is."

Andy Reid took over as the Kansas City Chiefs head coach in 2013 and has made the team a Super Bowl contender in nearly every season. He won Super Bowl LIV as the Chiefs head coach and was the 2018 AP NFL coach of the year.

McKinnon spoke about how confident he is with Reid as head coach.

He said:

"I mean, we have all the confidence in the world in coach Reid. I mean he's Big Red! But you know, it's just the way he's able to put us in position to make plays, no matter who it is, he always does a phenomenal job. You know, he's definitely creative with it, and it's definitely the best thing playing for him the last two years."

Reid has a career record of 263-154-1 with three Super Bowl appearances. He has won his seventh-straight AFC West title and is looking for another Super Bowl run with the team.

The Chiefs will close out their season playing the Seattle Seahawks, Denver Broncos, and Las Vegas Raiders.
