Fantasy Football Buy Low Sell High Trade Targets for Week 10 feat. Zay Flowers, Tank Dell
Now that the NFL trade deadline has passed, we can focus on our own fantasy leagues. Many fantasy leagues have upcoming dates in the next two weeks when trading ends. Take a moment and look at your league settings so you don’t miss out.
Week 10 is the beginning of a bye-gauntlet. In the coming weeks, we’ll see two slates with six teams on bye. How is your team positioned for that? Also, the playoffs begin for fantasy in six weeks. Does your roster stack up against the other contenders in your league? If the answer is no, it’s time to get to work. Only one team is going to win. Why not you?
Let’s focus on upside players who we want on our rosters for the playoff push. Remember this: scared money doesn’t make money. Let’s get to work.
Buy Low Sell High Trade Candidates for Week 10
Buy These Players:
1- Rome Odunze (WR, CHI)
If you watch the Bears offense, first, I’m sorry. Second, Odunze is the best receiver on the field. D.J. Moore looks like he’s quit on the team. Last week, he walked off the field during a play. Keenan Allen is old, slow, and inefficient with his targets. Over the last two weeks, Odunze has led all Bears WRs in fantasy points (23.4 total). His yards per target over that same span are better than his peers. In Week 9, Odunze turned five catches into 104 yards / 20.8 yards per reception. The Bears are past their bye, which is huge for players I want to target in trades. His playoff schedule includes three teams allowing top 10 points per game to receivers.
2- Jameson Williams (WR, DET)
Coming off his two-game suspension, Williams could be an afterthought on his owner's bench. While the Lions are crushing everyone and not throwing the ball a ton, Williams has week winning upside that I’m targeting. I suspect Williams will slide back into the WR 2 role for an upcoming schedule that should produce plenty of points. Games with Houston and Jacksonville in the next two weeks are dream spots for speedy receivers like WIlliams. His playoff schedule on paper isn’t ideal (BUF, @CHI, @SF), but if the Lions are going to clinic the NFC’s top seed, they’ll need explosive plays. Williams is the only player they have who can provide them.
3- Jake Ferguson (TE, DAL)
It’s a mess in Dallas. Dak Prescott is on IR, so Cooper Rush is now the Cowboys starting quarterback. That’s bad in real life, but for fantasy, I think it’s a win for Jake Ferguson. Outside of CeeDee Lamb (shoulder/questionable), there are no other players commanding targets. Ferguson has seen 18 targets over the last two weeks and turned them into 13 receptions for 94 yards. I think with all the dysfunction we’re seeing in Big D, you can get Ferguson at a discount.
4- Zay Flowers (WR, BAL)
Use the Diontae Johnson trade to your advantage. Some may think adding Johnson will detract from Flowers, but I don’t. Flowers’ role has blossomed this season as Baltimore is finally using him further downfield. This season, per Fantasy Points Data, Flowers’ average depth of target is 9.9. Last year, through nine weeks, it was 8.2. Finding this talented player deeper down the field has unlocked his playmaking ability. As Baltimore works towards the playoffs, I want to have their electrifying playmaker on my roster.
Players To Sell:
1- Tank Dell (WR, HOU)
Dell has been a disappointment in the absence of alpha wide receiver Nico Collins. Coming off his 126-yard performance in Week 9, I’m looking to sell. Yes, he had a 30% target share, but that isn’t going to last. Collins will return soon, and if I can sell Dell for an upgrade at RB or TE, I’m all for it. These are the times you move on from players. Showing your league mates that you’re willing to unload a player coming off an 18-point fantasy week can get the wheels moving on a deal. Dell has a Week 14 bye looming and Collins’ impending return.
2- Jackson Smith-Njigba (WR, SEA)
Another case of selling high off a big game. I get that JSN is talented, but this game was easy to see coming. DK Metcalf missed the game, and it led to JSN having the WR 1 week in fantasy in Week 9. While on bye this week, I’m looking to move on before Metcalf returns. The playoff schedule for the Seahawks isn’t great, either. They’ll face the Vikings, Bears, and Rams to close the fantasy season. I guarantee you can get great value in a trade for JSN this week.
3- Rico Dowdle (RB, DAL)
Bad team. Bad player. This is easy. Use a top-10 performance from Uncle Rico to move him immediately. Without Dak Prescott, this offense isn’t going anywhere. Dowdle isn’t talented enough to create with his limited touches. I’m packaging Dowdle with another player to upgrade at running back.
