Fantasy Football Buy Low Sell High Trade Targets for Week 9 feat. Michael Pittman Jr, Davante Adams, Jakobi Meyers

As the seasons change and the leaves fall, one thing remains constant: your desire to make a fantasy football trade. Improving your roster with the talent you bought low and sold high on is a thrill skydivers can’t feel. That moment when you see a trade is accepted is better than Christmas. Let’s call today Christmas Eve. It’s time to make some magic.

Here are the players I’m looking to trade for as we enter Week 9 of the NFL season. Some are buy-low opportunities. Others are simply players I want to acquire because I love their rest-of-season upside. I’ll also highlight players you could sell high or at least who could return a hefty profit in a trade.

Buy These Players

1] Tyrone Tracy (RB, NYG)

If you watched Monday Night Football, you saw the electricity that Tracy brings to the Giants offense. He’s taken that lead back from Devin Singletary, and I think as the season goes on, he will only tighten his grip.

Tracy handled 60% of the snaps on Monday to just 36% for Singletary. His shot-out-of-a-cannon touchdown run late in the game was all fantasy managers needed to see. Here’s the rub: he suffered a concussion in the fourth quarter, and I doubt he will play on a short week. Also, he has a bye looming in Week 11. So, it’s unlikely that Tracy will be in your lineup for two of the next three weeks.

If you are a team desperate for wins now, trade him. Sell him off base on that Monday night performance. You can’t afford to wait for him. If you are a team that is stacked and rolling toward the playoffs, buy Tracy using the same rationale. The sales pitch is the same, “Tracy isn’t playing two of the next three weeks. Let’s trade you someone that you can actually use.” I want Tracy on the move in leagues because smart players see value going both ways.

2] Nico Collins (WR, HOU)

One of the NFL’s best receivers remains on injured reserve but is slated to return in Week 10. I want you to move Heaven and Earth this week to try and get Collins on your rosters. Not only is Collins an alpha who was the leading receiver at the time of his injury, but he’ll also step back into a Texans offense without Stefon Diggs, who is lost for the season with a knee injury. Before going on IR, Collins had a touchdown or 115 yards in three of four games he completed. There will be a plethora of targets awaiting him, and I want those to be benefiting your rosters. Make that offer today.

3] Michael Pittman and Josh Downs (WR, IND)

With Anthony Richardson being benched, Joe Flacco will be under center going forward for the Colts. That is music to the ears of Colts WR owners. I want you to be one of those people. In Flacco’s three starts, Pittman scored a touchdown or went over 100 receiving yards. It was even better for Downs. He averaged eight receptions and averaged 19.2 points per game. It’s a great day to be in the Colts business. Make sure you’re there with us.

4] Najee Harris (RB, PIT)

The move to Russell Wilson isn’t just helping Steelers receivers. Harris is seeing fewer stacked boxes and opening running lanes previously that were not there under Justin Fields. In the two games Wilson started, Harris is averaging 20 carries and 108 yards rushing. That’s RB 1 production. Harris is on bye this week, so his owner might be more interested in getting someone who can score points on Sunday. Now, Harris doesn’t have the best schedule upcoming, but Pittsburgh's identity is running the football, and they aren’t changing that based on opponents.

5] Jakobi Meyers (WR, LV)

When you acquire a team's WR 1 for peanuts, you do it. Meyers is finally healthy and back to garnering a massive target share in the Raiders offense. Sunday, he collected six of seven targets for 52 yards and a score. This team is constantly behind, and his only competition for balls is Brock Bowers. That kind of consolidated offense means he’ll be fed weekly. I’m a big fan.

1] Davante Adams (WR, NYJ)

It’s over for the Jets. The Aaron Rodgers experiment is a bust. At some point, this disaster is going to go even further off the tracks. Get out now. There are plenty of receiver-needy teams in your leagues. Dangle Adams to someone on a team who is going places. If last week was any indication of future events, this is still Garrett Wilson’s show. Wilson no longer has double teams hampering his production weekly. He took a team-high eight targets and turned them into 113 yards. Move on from old man Adams.

2] Travis Etienne (RB, JAX)

The trade NFL deadline comes in a week, and Etienne is a name to watch. Next year, his salary will be just north of $6 million as his rookie contract comes to an end. That could be interesting to a team like Dallas or Minnesota. Etienne has been inefficient as a runner, surpassing 60 yards rushing just once. He’s lost his full-time role to Tank Bigsby, and if the Jags are in fire sale mode, I could see Etienne on the move. He’s not taking this Jacksonville backfield over, so he’s essentially a change of pace back going forward.
