"Honestly wouldn’t mind him as Seahawks QB" - NFL fans go crazy speculating Colin Kaepernick's return

Could the 34-year-old make a return to the NFL?

Forgotten quarterback Colin Kaepernick could potentially be returning to the NFL and it has sent fans into overdrive.

The 34-year-old free agent quarterback recently posted on his Twitter account that he missed throwing to professional route runners. Kaepernick received a reply from Seattle Seahawks star Tyler Lockett, who said he would help out the former San Francisco 49er.

With Seattle now in need of a quarterback after the franchise traded away Russell Wilson to Denver, some fans seem to be in favor of the free agent being the team's quarterback. One fan even posted saying so.

He wrote:

@TDLockett12 @CorbinSmithNFL Honestly I wouldn’t mind Kaepernick as the Seahawks QB.

It is certainly an interesting thought to have the former 49ers star back as a starter in the NFL. One fan posted saying that they would mind if he was a Seahawk as it means they would have to go for the team.

@MittySeahawks @TDLockett12 @CorbinSmithNFL I would. Because that'd mean I'd have to root for the Seahawks and I can't have that

A Dallas Cowboys fan posted saying that if the 34-year-old was signed by Seattle, they would switch teams without a second thought.

@MittySeahawks @TDLockett12 @CorbinSmithNFL Wouldn’t mind? If Seattle signs Kaepernick, I will switch from being a Cowboys fan (since 1978) to the Seahawks without a second thought.

Another fan posted that should the former 49er sign with the Seahawks, the NFC team would become their favorite team after the Kansas City hiefs.

@MittySeahawks @TDLockett12 @CorbinSmithNFL Man Seattle would become my favorite team after the Chiefs

Journalist Tariq Nasheed posted that it would be a smart move for the Seahawks and great for the league as a whole if the 34-year-old was signed.

Colin Kaepernick getting signed to the Seahawks would be a SMART move and a great look for the NFL

Another fan simply posted that they hope the Seahawks give the free agent a try out.

@TDLockett12 I so hope the Seahawks give him a try out.

One fan posted that despite being out of the league for five years, the former 49ers quarterback is better than 10 current NFL starters in a glowing endorsement.

@TDLockett12 @wyche89 Kaep after 5 years off would be better than 10 current starters. Maybe more. Get in Pete’s ear, TL!

The tweets kept coming with another fan posting that it would be awesome to see Seattle sign the free agent quarterback.

@TDLockett12 Yes this would be awesome to see.

Rodney Madison posted in reply to Lockett's willingness to help Kaepernick, writing that it would be good to see it happen.

@TDLockett12 Kaepernick to the Seahawks? Could be an interesting mix of outcomes. I'd like to see it happen

Another fan also posted that they would love to see the 34-year-old in Seattle.

@TDLockett12 Would love to see you bring Kap to Seattle.

Kaepernick would help the Seahawks

Seattle are in need of a new quarterback

A potential move for Kaepernick would certainly help the Seahawks. They are desperately in need of a new quarterback and signing him would not burst the bank. To add to that, Seattle has multiple first-round picks thanks to Russell Wilson's trade to Denver.

With Kaepernick still working out in the hope that a chance may come his way, it shows that despite being out of the league for so long, he is taking it seriously.

Whether a move materializes or not remains to be seen, but there is definitely a growing sense that the 34-year-old could make a sensational return to the league.

It would be great for football to see the former 49ers quarterback on the field again. Should the Seahawks go for him, they will also be getting an experienced quarterback on the cheap.

While he may not be the franchise's long-term solution at quarterback, he could buy the organization time to look for some quality young alternatives.
