How long is Cooper Kupp out for? Rams confirm how long WR will be sidelined
Cooper Kupp has been one of the best wide receivers in the NFL this season, but the Los Angeles Rams star will be out for some time. The Rams placed the Pro Bowl wideout on injured reserve (IR) after suffering a high ankle sprain in Week 10 versus the Arizona Cardinals.
The IR designation means he'll be out of action for at least four games. The star receiver will have a procedure done for the injury and the earliest he will be able to return to the Rams is in Week 15 against the Green Bay Packers.
He tweeted out his appreciation to those who've sent prayers his way regarding the injury:
The former Eastern Washington star suffered an ankle sprain injury back in Week Eight against the San Francisco 49ers. He spoke to the media about the injury after that 49ers game and said:
"It just got rolled up a little bit, "Foot got caught, but I think it was able to slide out of there before there was too much damage done, and so, we'll see over these next few days how it responds."
This season, Kupp has led the Rams in receptions (78), yards (812), and touchdowns (six). Last season, the 29-year-old led the NFL in all three categories. He had 145 receptions, 1,947 yards, and 16 touchdowns in the 2021-2022 season.
Now, the Rams will have to somehow replace his production for at least four games.
3 Players who could replace Cooper Kupp
Cooper Kupp is a player that no other player can replace. However, here are three options that the Los Angeles Rams could look to in place of Kupp.
#1 Odell Beckham Jr.
Odell Beckham Jr. has familiarity with the franchise after signing with them late last season. The three-time Pro Bowl wideout is currently a free agent as the star is recovering from a torn ACL in Super Bowl 56. The star could easily replace Cooper Kupp.
Beckham Jr. wants to join a contender this season, but the Rams sit with a 3-6 record and are last in the NFC West. It seems unlikely that the coveted free agent will return to the Rams.
#2 Will Fuller V
Will Fuller V was seen playing two games for the Miami Dolphins last season. He played six seasons in the NFL, the first five with the Houston Texans. In his career, Fuller has 213 receptions, 3,136 yards, and 24 touchdowns.
#3 T.Y. Hilton
T.Y. Hilton has played his entire NFL career with the Indianapolis Colts, playing in just 10 games with them last season. The four-time Pro Bowler has suffered various neck and head injuries in his career but could still help a team like the Rams.
In the 2021-2022 season, Hilton had 23 receptions, 331 yards, and three touchdowns and could be a serviceable replacement to Cooper Kupp.
