“I didn’t have fun” - NFL analyst calls Aaron Rodgers’ interview depressing amid public divorce with Packers

After almost 20 years, Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers are in the midst of a separation based on what was said by the quarterback on the Pat McAfee show on Wednesday.

The following morning, NFL analyst Kyle Brandt expressed a darkly toned interpretation of the events unfolding in live time. Here's how he put it:

"I don't think it was fun at all. I think I anticipated something slightly more celebratory. I didn't have fun watching that because it wasn't about the Jets. It really was very little about the Jets. This was about the Packers. I think the reason why it wasn't fun is because we were witnessing a public divorce yesterday and we're going to continue to watch one."

Will Aaron Rodgers play longer than Brett Favre?

He continued, explaining why the "divorce" was and is difficult to watch:

"You had some mudslinging, those little passive aggressive [jabs]. There's a lot of talk of money [and] reaching a settlement between both sides. They're seeing other people. There was talk of love. Aaron got full custody of Allen Lazard, they're fighting for maybe some of the other children. It was very strange."
No matter where Aaron Rodgers goes, he'll always be a Packer...

One of the long-standing expectations of humanity as it continues to exist on the planet is that each generation lives longer than the previous.

Brett Favre set a bar in moving from the Packers to the Jets. Did Aaron Rodgers eclipse that, assuming the deal goes through?

The New York tabloids are off and running…

Per Pro Football Reference, when Brett Favre joined the Jets in 2008, it was for an age-39 season. He then featured for the Minnesota Vikings in the 2009 and 2010 seasons.

If Rodgers' deal goes through, he will be turning 40 in December, while playing for the Jets in the 2023 season.

Will the quarterback stick with the Jets and the NFL longer than his mentor, despite already taking the league through years of ponderances about his future?
