IN PHOTOS: Patrick Mahomes' wife Brittany shares QB's brave challenge with lion during bye week zoo trip
Patrick Mahomes is currently on his bye week, disconnecting himself from all things football. On Thursday, he had a grand idea: take his children to a zoo.
By all accounts, it was a memorable experience. His wife Brittany took to Instagram to share many images and videos, including one where the Kansas City Chiefs quarterback and son Patrick Lavon III, aka Bronze, had a gazing contest with a lion:
"Bronze is scared of a lot of things... but was not scared of this lion? (cry-laughing emoji)"
"In a complete stare-off (cry-laughing emoji)... who won?"
Patrick Mahomes discusses conversation with Royals shortstop about playoff mentality
Outside of football, Patrick Mahomes is well known to have many endorsements and miscellaneous ventures. However, none matters to him more than his ownership stake in MLB's Kansas City Royals. After all, he is the son of a former pitcher and used to play baseball himself before joining the NFL.
As the Chiefs seek an unprecedented third Super Bowl title, the Royals are targeting their first World Series title since 2015. Last week, while speaking to reporters, Mahomes revealed that he had been texting shortstop Bobby Witt Jr. about playoff mentality:
“We talk quite a bit... We’ve talked about slumps, and getting into the playoffs and everything like that. So I stay in touch, because even though we play different sports, we’re very similar in age as well.”
He further added that another Royals championship would be a great achievement and moment for Kansas City:
“I’ve heard all the stories about how awesome the environment was the last time the Royals were in the playoffs. And they’re going up against a great baseball team — a historic team. I’m excited for these guys. They are hungry. They’re playing some great baseball.”
Witt Jr. is currently involved in the Kansas City Royals' best-of-five series against the New York Yankees in the AL Division Series.
