Is Andy Dalton playing today vs Bengals? Exploring Panthers QB's status for Week 4 fantasy football

Carolina Panthers quarterback Andy Dalton was named the team's starting quarterback after second-year quarterback Bryce Young was benched after the Panthers fell to 0-2 on the season.

Dalton, who signed with the Panthers in the 2023 offseason, beat out then rookie QB Young for the starting spot, but days before the 2024 season, Young was announced the team's starter.

After Young struggled in his rookie season, he began the 2024 season as Carolina's starter. After an 0-2 start and playing poorly, the team turned to veteran Andy Dalton as its starter.

In his first start with the Carolina Panthers this season, Andy Dalton took advantage of the opportunity. In the Panthers' 36-22 victory over the Las Vegas Raiders, Dalton threw for 319 yards, completing 26-of-37 pass attempts and three touchdowns. As a result, Dalton remains Carolina's starter and should play Sunday.

In Dalton's second start of the season, he will face the team that drafted him in 2011, the Cincinnati Bengals. Dalton is looking forward to the opportunity to face his former team:

"It's obviously fun, a ton of memories for me in Cincinnati. There are still some coaches that were there when I was there. It's going to be nice to kind of catch up with them and get to see them. When you see Cincy on the schedule, it's like I've had it every year except last year, so it's always fun to get the opporunity to go against them."

The 1-2 Carolina Panthers will host the 0-3 Cincinnati Bengals today. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m. EDT. The game will be played at the Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte, North Carolina.

The game will be broadcasted on Fox and fans have the option to stream the game via Fubo.

The Panthers will look to build some momentum with Dalton at quarterback, seeking a second-straight win and getting in contention for the NFC South. Meanwhile, there may be no team hungrier for a win in Week 4 than the Bengals.

The Bengals, like last season, are off to a slow start, and are desperate for a win. With the Pittsburgh Steelers at the top of the division with a 3-0 record, the Bengals can't afford an 0-4 start.
