Is James Cook playing today? Latest on Bills RB for Week 7 clash against Titans
Buffalo Bills running back James Cook missed the first game of his three-season NFL career on Monday night against the New York Jets as he was dealing with a toe injury.
However, James was a full participant in practices later in the week, with all signs pointing to a return against the Tennessee Titans in Week 7.
Per ESPN NFL reporter Adam Schefter, Cook is expected to play today.
In five games this season, Cook has rushed for 309 yards and four touchdowns. He also has 11 receptions for 123 yards and a touchdown in the receiving department.
Buffalo is 4-2 in the AFC East and will host the 1-4 Tennessee Titans at 1:00 p.m. ET. Having Cook on the field will boost their offense as they look to win their second-straight game after losing two in a row.
Buffalo will likely have the luxury of having Cook active, as well as a new offensive weapon.
Amari Cooper will make his debut for the Buffalo Bills
The Buffalo Bills made a big move to bolster their offense by acquiring Amari Cooper from the Cleveland Browns in exchange for a 2025 third-round pick and a 2026 seventh-round pick.
Despite just being traded on Tuesday, Cooper is already set to debut for the Bills at home today.
The Titans may only have a 1-4 record to show, but they surprisingly have the league's best pass defense. Even if Cooper is expected to have a limited snap count today, he can still make an impact on their pass offense.
Cooper can even become Buffalo's No. 1 wide receiver, as he's had back-to-back 1,000-yard seasons with the Browns. In six games this season, Cooper has 24 catches for 250 yards and two touchdowns.
