Is Jayden Daniels playing today? Commanders QB's status revealed for Week 12 game vs. Cowboys
The Washington Commanders' offense appeared invincible earlier in the season, but after quarterback Jayden Daniels was diagnosed with a rib injury following a Week 7 game against the Carolina Panthers, the play has become more erratic.
The rookie quarterback hasn't missed a game despite the injury concerns, and coach Dan Quinn assured fans on Monday that Daniels is now injury-free.
"I want to start off by saying clearly—Jayden Daniels is not injured now," Quinn said.
Ahead of their Sunday afternoon game against the Dallas Cowboys, let's find out if the rib problem will keep Daniels from suiting up.
Exploring Jayden Daniels' availability status for Week 12
Jayden Daniels is still expected to start for the Washington Commanders in Week 12, despite speculations that he hasn't fully recovered from the rib ailment he has had since Week 7.
The 23-year-old quarterback was not listed on the Commanders' injury report this week, and he is expected to play against the Dallas Cowboys if he does not sustain any injuries during warmups.
On Wednesday, Jayden Daniels was questioned about why he keeps his ribs covered when on the sidelines.
"It's to stay warm," he answered. "You don't want your body parts to get cold, especially because it's getting later in the year and growing colder. So, it's just to stay warm.”
The signal-caller's rib ailment is no longer an issue, as Daniels and coach Dan Quinn have made clear, which should ease concerns that he might miss games in the future.
Since suffering the injury in Week 7, Daniels has played in four games and has occasionally played well. Although he has seen a decline in his numbers over that time, he has been up against more formidable defensive units, which may be partly to blame.
Jayden Daniels may be able to return to the kind of form that has made him the front-runner for Offensive Rookie of the Year in his game against the Dallas Cowboys today. Even Micah Parsons' return to fitness hasn't helped the Cowboys' defense, which has been horrendous this season.
How to watch Washington Commanders vs. Dallas Cowboys in Week 12?
