Is Tee Higgins playing on Sunday? Latest on Bengals WR for Fantasy Football Week 16
Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Tee Higgins could be counting his days as a Cincinnati Bengal. Higgins, who was franchise-tagged by the Bengals last offseason, is set to become a free agent, with many believing he will sign with a new team in free agency.
Still, even before free agency or the offseason begins, Higgins and the Bengals will try to win out with a chance for a spot in the playoffs.
The Bengals, who are 6-8 heading into Week 16, have a slim chance of making the playoffs, but it can still happen. The Bengals need to win out, the Denver Broncos to lose out, Miami to lose one of their final three games, and the Colts to lose one of their last three games.
Tee Higgins injury update: Will Bengals WR play this Sunday against the Cleveland Browns?
Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Tee Higgins was a limited participant in practice this week. Things became concerning on Thursday, as Higgins missed practice.
Despite missing practice, it wasn't a big deal as head coach Zac Taylor was giving him rest. Taylor announced a day later that Higgins will play against the Cleveland Browns on Sunday. Quarterback Joe Burrow, who has been limited in practice this week, is also good for Sunday.
Taylor said that Higgins' and Burrow's statuses in practice won't limit how they use them on Sunday.
Tee Higgins would love to stay in Cincinnati with the Bengals
Tee Higgins is set to test free agency this offseason unless the Cincinnati franchise tags him a second time.
With Ja'Marr Chase due a new deal, the Bengals will prioritize signing him over Higgins, leaving it more likely that Higgins will hit free agency. Higgins understands the business, but would still like to remain with the Bengals.
"Yeah definitely I would love to stay here, but this business is crazy. So, I'm going wherever god's willing, and go from there," Higgins told TMZ Sports.
Higgins has shown he's still a good-quality wide receiver. In nine games played this season, Higgins has 50 catches for 669 yards and five touchdowns.
If Cincy allows him to hit the open market, he's expected to have a strong market. Teams interested in him could be the New England Patriots, Washington Commanders and the Pittsburgh Steelers.
