"It’s easy to get caught up": When Tom Brady opened up about his secret to staying focused during the Super Bowl

Tom Brady holds the record for the most Super Bowl appearances: 10. Hence, he is probably the best person to seek advice on how to handle crunch situations. After all, he triumphed seven times and failed thrice in a career spanning 23 seasons.

The secret to Brady’s longevity lies in his peak fitness, which is idolized by many around the world. However, amidst his massively successful career and dashing looks, his mental toughness is often neglected. The 6-foot-4' lad from Michigan University was drafted #199 in the 2000 NFL draft, but two decades later, he became #1 in the same league.

Tom Brady ignores the noise during crunch matches

In an exclusive interview with the widely regarded NFL GOAT, Tom Brady in Maria Shriver’s Sunday Paper in February 2017, he revealed how he stays focused ahead of crunch matches.

“It’s easy to get caught up in the excitement of a big game or event — after these many years, I’ve learned to ignore the noise!”

Brady further added how important a disciplined lifestyle is for him.

“For me, having a regular routine is very helpful. That means establishing a consistent bedtime and getting an adequate amount of good-quality sleep every night and carving out time for the TB12 BrainHQ cognitive exercises that help me focus my mind on the most critical information and disregard the rest.”

The former QB of the New England Patriots is praised for improving over time as his career progressed. He performed exceptionally well in the latter part of his career, something Brady credits to his peak fitness. But Brady also understands the importance of mental fitness as well.

“I feel the mind and body must work together. I believe just as strongly in the importance of mental fitness as I do about physical fitness. For me, mental fitness comes from a combination of activities and choices.”

Tom Brady introduces TB12 method to the world

Back in 2017, Brady came up with an idea to introduce the TB12 method to the world, a program that also turned out to be his retirement plan.

“I perform cognitive exercises (which are available to anyone at TB12.BrainHQ.com) that help me stay sharp and make better split-second decisions on the field. And I prioritize getting enough rest to allow my body to recover. And I strive to keep a positive mental attitude at all times,” the 3x time MVP told Shriver.

Aspirants can gain access to the program through the TB12 Method book or the program itself. It discusses the methods Tom Brady has applied successfully during his career.
