Jayden Reed injury update: Latest on Packers WR's status for Week 3 fantasy football

Jayden Reed had a discreet performance against the Indianapolis Colts following a terrific 138-yard, two-touchdown season debut against the Philadelphia Eagles. The second-year wide receiver has been dealing with issues since the season started, even missing practice sessions.

The week could get better for Reed, the Green Bay Packers, and fantasy managers after the versatile player was listed as DNP on Wednesday's injury report.

Jayden Reed Week 3 injury update

Jayden Reed was initially added to the injury report last Friday as a limited participant. He hadn't previously shown signs of dealing with issues, but he ultimately suited up for the Packers in the 16-10 win against the Colts.

To start the week, he didn't participate in Wednesday's practice session due to a calf issue. As Jordan Love practiced for the second straight day, Reed returned to the field and was listed as a limited participant. The only two players listed as DNP are Jordan Morgan and Carrington Valentine.

Can Jayden Reed have another strong performance against the Titans?

After starting the season on a high note against the Eagles, Jayden Reed was unable to emulate his performance against the Colts, going from six targets and four receptions to two and two. He recorded 138 receiving yards and one touchdown before settling for nine yards and no touchdowns in Week 2.

As a running back, he carried the ball once in Brazil for 33 yards and one touchdown. Against the Colts, he posted two carries for 37 yards but fumbled the ball in the hard-fought game.

Reed can still be valuable for the Packers, but it's clear that if he's playing alongside Jordan Love, his chances to thrive drastically increase. Malik Willis is expected to start for the Packers against his former team, the Tennessee Titans, but if Love makes an early return to the field, Willis will be relegated to the bench and Reed and company will have bigger chances to shine against the Titans.

After a remarkable rookie season, Reed entered this campaign expected to make some noise and improve his numbers from the last campaign. The Packers are one of the most exciting young teams in the league, but the season isn't off to the best start for them regardless of their win against the Colts.

Jordan Love is recovering from a sprained MCL and 10 more players are listed on the injury report. Perhaps facing a rebuilding Titans team will give them a chance to get a positive record, but the Packers need Love to be competitive.
