Jaylen Warren injury update: Should fantasy managers be concerned about Steelers RB?

Any player with a Q, D, or the dreaded O next to their name in the fantasy draft pool, such as Jaylen Warren, gives fantasy managers pause. But how serious is that injury? It depends on the player. In Warren's case, it's a hamstring issue. Those can be tricky to recover from.

Is his status worth monitoring and should it impact the way you view him as a fantasy prospect?

Should fantasy managers be worried about the Steelers RB?

There is no cause for concern with Jaylen Warren. His injury is expected to be a thing of the past by the time Week 1 rolls around, so there's no issue with drafting him. Since he's not expected to miss any time, there's no reason to pass on him and wait since he's effectively an active player already.

The only thing to consider with the Pittsburgh Steelers is the backfield situation. Warren is talented and has often outplayed Najee Harris, but Harris is still the starter. In our RB rankings, the two are neck and neck.

Plus, the Steelers have brought in two mobile QBs. Both Justin Fields and Russell Wilson can run, though Wilson is not nearly as effective. Whichever player is on the field, it will impact both RBs.

However, injury is of no concern for Warren, so fantasy managers can draft him as normal and totally ignore the injury designation next to his name.

Jaylen Warren's injury update

Jaylen Warren has been dealing with a hamstring injury.

Nick Farabaugh reported that the running back is "feeling much better" and that he expects to be fine and play in the Week 1 game against the Atlanta Falcons.

That's not brimming with confidence per se, but Warren still has 13 full days to recover from the injury. He says it's feeling much better, so one can imagine how much better it will be in two weeks.

Warren is an intriguing fantasy prospect. Many believe he should be the Steelers' starter, but he'll receive plenty of touches regardless. Fantasy managers can pick him with confidence now that he's healthy.
