Jerome Ford waiver wire fantasy outlook Week 16: Is Browns RB a good pickup?
Cleveland Browns running back Jerome Ford has been part of the team's running back committee but he may take over as the starting running back going forward.
Ford rushed for 84 yards on seven carries and a touchdown against the Kansas City Chiefs. He has put himself in line to get more carries, but is he a good fantasy pickup?

The Cleveland Browns have been using Nick Chubb as their starting running back since he returned from injury. However, Chubb has struggled in the role, which could lead to Ford getting more carries.
Ford proved he deserves the bulk of the carries after his performance against the Chiefs in Week 15. Chubb also suffered a broken foot in Week 15, so Ford likely is in line to be the starter.
"I thought he was really good," coach Kevin Stefanski said about Ford (via the team website). "Obviously, gave us a spark in the kick return game. Gave us a spark on offense. So, it's just building on that. I thought his pass protection was good as well. So, another young player that will get a few more opportunities."
Ford is a great fantasy pickup in Week 16 and going forward. Week 16 serves as some league championship or semifinals, which makes it such a pivotal week.
Jerome Ford should see plenty of carries. The Browns play the Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday, which allows 126.9 rushing yards per game, so the opportunity is there for Ford to succeed.
"We had a couple reps of it in practice this week," Ford said. "The wide receivers and the offensive line did a great job of blocking it up. If you look at that film, it's just me running. I'm not touched at all. And that's pretty much on the offensive line and the wide receivers doing their job."
Ford is a good RB2 in leagues going into Week 16, especially if he's the team's starting running back. He's projected for 11.7 fantasy points in Week 16 in Sportskeeda's fantasy tool. The tool projects Ford to rush for 54.3 yards and add 21 receiving yards.
If Ford is a free agent, picking him up for Week 16 makes a lot of sense.
