Jets sign Aaron Rodgers' former WR Allen Lazard as QB's trade talks intensify
As trade talks between the New York Jets and Aaron Rodgers have been heating up, the Jets have signed former Green Bay Packers wide receiver Allen Lazard. The team signed him to a four-year, $44 million deal, per Jordan Schultz.
Lazard recorded a career-high in receptions (60) and yards (788) while scoring six touchdowns in 15 games last season.
The Jets have added another receiver to their group that features Garrett Wilson and Elijah Moore.
Jets sign one from Aaron Rodgers' wishlist
Although Aaron Rodgers isn't with the Jets yet, he has a wish list of players he wants them to sign this offseason.
Per Dianna Russini of ESPN, Rodgers wants the team to sign former teammates Randall Cobb, Allen Lazard and Marcedes Lewis. He also wants the team to sign free-age wideout Odell Beckham Jr.
The Jets have signed one of those players in Lazard, a fifth-year receiver who went undrafted out of Iowa State in 2018. They could acquire one or more players on Rodgers' wish list.
Nothing is imminent yet, but it seems like Rodgers may be a Jet after all, and it seems more and more like it each day with the moves the Jets are making.
