Jordan Addison NFL Draft: 3 teams that should go all in for USC’s star receiver
As the NFL Draft approaches, one of the best wide receiver prospects is the University of Southern California's Jordan Addison.
Before becoming a Trojan, Addison was a member of the Pittsburgh Pirates from 2020 to 2021. He made an immediate impact as a freshman.
In 10 games played, he recorded 60 catches for 666 yards and four touchdowns. He also added 58 rushing yards.
He won the Biletnikoff award for being the best receiver in the nation in 2021. He recorded 100 receptions for 1,593 yards and 17 touchowns. He also added 12 punt returns for 185 yards.
In 2022, he transferred to the University of Southern California.
In his lone season at USC, he caught 59 passes for 875 yards and four touchdowns. In his three-year college career, he's recorded 219 receptions for 3,134 yards and 20 touchdowns.
Addison is known for his athleticism and speed. He's one of the quickest wideouts in the draft and has great acceleration off the line of scrimmage.
Addison is projected to be a first-round draft pick who will provide immediate improvement to any team that selects him.
Three teams that should target Jordan Addison in the 2023 NFL Draft
Jordan Addison has the potential to be one of the most explosive playmakers in this year's draft. Here are three teams that should take a flier on the Trojan receiver:
#1 - Kansas City Chiefs
The Kansas City Chiefs have lost two wide receivers this off-season. They lost speedy wideout Mecole Hardman via trade to the New York Jets and JuJu Smith-Schuster to the New England Patriots in free agency.
Last year, they selected WR Skyy Moore in the second-round of the NFL Draft. He's expected to have a bigger impact this season. They also acquired wide receiver Kadarius Toney from the New York Giants, who featured heavily in their offense.
Adding Addison would give Patrick Mahomes another explosive playmaker that could potentially be a 1,000 yard-plus receiver.
#2 - Green Bay Packers
The Green Bay Packers are likely to be without Aaron Rodgers this season as he's expected to be traded to the New York Jets. Backup quarterback Jordan Love will finally take over as the team's starter and will need weapons.
Second-round rookie WR Christian Watson emerged toward the end of last season, but the team has also lost Allen Lazard to the New York Jets this off-season.
Rodgers struggled last season with the team and with the players that they had. If Love takes over at QB, he will need more targets. The Packers haven't added any receivers in the off-season, so they could add another good, young, wide receiver in Jordan Addison to be an explosive, speedy target in their system.
#3 - Baltimore Ravens
The Baltimore Ravens need help at the receiver position. While they've added WR Nelson Agholor this off-season, they still need more talent.
Whether it's Lamar Jackson or another quarterback throwing the ball for Baltimore this season, they will need to add another receiver to the group. DeMarcus Robinson led all wide receivers on the team with 458 yards. No wide receiver on the team recorded more than 500 yards or three receiving touchdowns.
Addison has shown that he can be a touchdown machine as he scored 17 touchdowns in his sophomore season in college.
