The Kansas City Chiefs vs. Houston Texans Week 16 matchup had everything to be one of the most entertaining of the week. The 13-1 Chiefs tried to get closer to clinch the No. 1 seed in the AFC with a win against the Texans, while the AFC South team tried to improve its record and clinch the title division for the second consecutive season.
Patrick Mahomes showed the way for the Chiefs while CJ Stroud did the same for the Texans, keen to give the Chiefs the second loss of the campaign.

After Jaden Hicks intercepted a CJ Stroud pass directed at Nico Collins, the Chiefs had the first drive of the game. Patrick Mahomes scored a 15-yard rushing touchdown to finish the 11-play, 55-yard drive and give the Chiefs the first lead of the game.
The Texans responded with Kaimi Fairbaim's 33-yard field goal to cut the lead to 7-3 at 3:08 in the first quarter.
In a long drive that included 13 plays and 82 yards, CJ Stroud found Dalton Schultz in the end zone with a 10-yard pass to score the Texans' first touchdown of the game and give them the 10-7 lead.
Kansas City retook the lead with Kareem Hunt's three-yard rushing touchdown. After intercepting CJ Stroud for the second time, Harrison Butker completed a 44-yard kick to extend the lead to 17-10.
The Houston Texans scored the first touchdown of the third quarter when CJ Stroud connected with Tank Dell with a 30-yard passing touchdown. Although they scored and cut the lead to 17-16, they lost Dell with an apparent knee injury and had to get carted off the field.
The Chiefs responded with a Patrick Mahomes to Xavier Worthy touchdown for 19 yards to extend the lead 24-16. Houston added three more points with a Fairbairn 38-yard field goal. Harrison Butker put the final three points on the scoreboard with a 27-yard field goal to secure the 27-19 win.
The Chiefs improved to 14-1 in the first of three games they'll play in the next 11 games.
