Kansas City Chiefs Week 16 Injury Report: Latest on Marquise Brown, Patrick Mahomes, Harrison Butker and more
The Kansas City Chiefs take on the Houston Texans in Week 16 of the 2024 NFL season. The defending back-to-back champions are coming off one of the best performances of their season against the Cleveland Browns and will try to extend their good moment against the Texans.
Kansas City has endured several serious injuries during the season and in recent weeks, Harrison Butker and Patrick Mahomes dealt with injuries that sounded alarms within the organization. The Chiefs have escaped several games and with recent developments, they should be more dangerous ahead of the playoffs.
Kansas City Chiefs injury report for Week 16
Kansas City presented an injury report with seven players, including some of their best and most important players. Marquise "Hollywood" Brown popped up on the report after sustaining a shoulder injury before the season started. He was a full participant in Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday's practice session.
The Chiefs activated him as he doesn't have a designation for this game. Patrick Mahomes, who suffered a high-ankle sprain against the Cleveland Browns, was also a full participant in the three practice sessions this week and has no designation for this clash.
Harrison Butker missed four games with a knee injury and returned to the field last week. He also participated in every practice session this week and is good to go against Houston. Creed Humphrey and Jawaan Taylor were also listed as FP in each of this week's practice sessions and will be available for this game.
Chamarri Conner and DJ Humphries didn't participate in any practice sessions and were ruled out for this matchup.
The Chiefs are in the middle of a four-game winning streak – beating the Carolina Panthers, Las Vegas Raiders, LA Chargers and Cleveland Browns – after losing to the Buffalo Bills on Nov. 17.
After the Texans game, the Kansas City Chiefs clash against the Pittsburgh Steelers before closing out the regular season versus the Denver Broncos as visitors. Having Marquise Brown back on the field is major for Kansas City's three-peat aspirations.
Brown is yet to suit up for the team after picking up a shoulder injury. Without Rashee Rice, Brown's presence becomes more important for the Chiefs. He could create a tandem with DeAndre Hopkins to wreak havoc on opposing defenses.
