Kareem Hunt or Kenneth Walker III Week 11 Start 'Em, Sit 'Em: Fantasy football projections for RBs
Kareem Hunt and Kenneth Walker III – they sit on different ends of the running back spectrum. One is a veteran who is undergoing a career renaissance, while the other is a young rising star who has the potential to be the face of his franchise.
But with only so much room for strong-performing running backs, only one of them unfortunately has to sit while the other takes his turn in the fantasy managers' realm. So who is it?
Is Kareem Hunt a good fantasy pick in Week 11?
Week 10 marked the worst rushing performance of Kareem Hunt's 2024 season so far – only 35 yards on 14 carries. And yet he managed to score 17 fantasy points and place RB15 on Sportskeeda's fantasy football rankings thanks to a strong performance in the air – 65 yards on 10 receptions, with a longest play of 26.
And if any improvement to that is expected when the Kansas City Chiefs face the Buffalo Bills, then managers should not be disappointed. The reigning AFC East rulers are surprisingly the league's second-worst fantasy running back defenders, allowing 29.32 points against the position – in stark contrast to their top eight-ranked wide receiver defense.
Is Kenneth Walker III a good fantasy pick in Week 11?
Only twice has Kenneth Walker III scored fewer than double-digit points in 2024 so far – and in both times, he failed to crack even 20. Otherwise, he has been fairly prolific despite not having hit at least 100 yards since the season opener against the Denver Broncos.
The RB14 has been able to do this by being a scoring threat. After missing the next two games after Week 1 with a rib injury, he exploded for three touchdowns at the Detroit Lions and has rushed for six twice more since then – even catching a touchdown as well.
A strong performance should be expected of him and the Seattle Seahawks against the San Francisco 49ers, who are surprisingly only "mid" against running backs despite the depth of their defense – 23.44 points allowed, 20th in the league.
Whom should I start between Kareem Hunt and Kenneth Walker III?
Sportskeeda's Start/Sit Tool gives the nod to Walker; but the nature of it is surprising given his statistical near-dominance, with rushing touchdowns being his only loss.
The only thing that goes against him is the Seahawks' relatively mediocre performance so far, but another strong individual showing should elevate his stock even further. But the same can be said for Hunt, who faces even weaker opposition.
