Kareem Hunt or Najee Harris: Week 10 Start 'Em, Sit 'Em: Fantasy football projections for RBs
Kareem Hunt and Najee Harris are two of the most highly undervalued running backs in the league. In a realm being utterly dominated by Derrick Henry, these two are looking to prove that they are viable alternatives.
One was not fully activated until well after the season had begun, while the other is on the last year of his current contract. Who between them has the better value?
Is Kareem Hunt a good fantasy pick in Week 10?
Remember when Kareem Hunt looked like the next iteration in a storied tradition of monstrously productive Kansas City Chefs running backs? He was very good as a rookie in 2017 before TMZ leaked a video footage of him attacking a woman the next year.
Almost five years since then, he has had a vengeful comeback of sorts since replacing the injured Isiah Pacheco. Five touchdowns in as many games (on top of 414 yards) and a strong fantasy points count of 83.5, never dippong below 10 PPG - that puts him at a solid RB20 on this week's Sportskeeda fantasy football rankings.
However, it gets better. The Denver Broncos are middling against the run, allowing 23.59 on average against that position - so Hunt can cut through the largely anonymous front seven as much as he pleases.
Is Najee Harris a good fantasy pick in Week 10?
The Pittsburgh Steelers have exceeded expectations to begin the 2024 season on a high, going a division best 6-2 ahead of their bye week. Yet Najee Harris was largely unassuming in fantasy until the last three games of the stretch, scoring a combined 46.5 points as he hit 100 yards in each of them.
He sits immediately behind Hunt at RB21, with the chance to overtake him should he deliver a strong performance against the Washington Commanders, who are a decent 12th against the run at 21.18 points allowed.
Whom should I start between Kareem Hunt and Najee Harris?
The ensuing battle in Sportskeeda's Start/Sit Optimizer is extremely close, and Harris dominates every stat but one. Yet that same stat is what proves to be his downfall: touchdowns.
Kareem Hunt may as well make a strong case for Comeback Player of the Year. He was supposed to be just a fill-in player; and yet here he's, gaining yards and reaching the endzone as if it were 2017 all over again. And any astute fantasy player out there should take notice all those contribuions to the last unbeatem team standing this season.
