Keon Coleman Waiver Wire Fantasy Outlook Week 8: Why you need to add Bills WR
Entering Week 8, the Buffalo Bills are in firm control of the AFC East and it's difficult to see anyone wrestle that hold away from them. The Miami Dolphins will have Tua Tagovailoa back this week and one would assume the New York Jets pick up a couple more wins once they get their offense together, but the Bills appear to be going from strength to strength, and Amari Cooper's arrival is only going to put more distance between them and the rest of the AFC East.
However, one man who has been somewhat overlooked amidst all the hullabaloo of the Cooper trade is rookie wideout Keon Coleman.
Coleman showed up and showed out against the Tennessee Titans in Week 7, propelling himself to the top of our priority waiver wire adds for Week 8.
Keon Coleman waiver wire fantasy outlook for Week 8
Coleman registered a season-high of seven targets against the Titans, turning them into four grabs for a team-high 125 yards. He also led the Bills in target share (21.2%), which is a promising sign given the acquisition of Amari Cooper.
Naturally, questions will be raised over whether Coleman can sustain this production, given Cooper wasn't exactly familiar with the playbook right after switching over from the Browns.
But Coleman has registered double-digit returns in two of his last three games after delivering duds in the first four weeks. All things considered, there's a lot to like about Coleman's role in this Bills offense.
And when you zoom out a little and look at the Bills' next few matchups, the decision becomes a bit easier.
Buffalo will go up against Seattle and Indianapolis over the next couple of weeks, two teams that have struggled to keep opposing receivers in check. The Colts matchup in particular should be beneficial for Coleman, meaning some flex consideration could be in play.
At present, Coleman is rostered in 44.4% of ESPN leagues and 32% of Yahoo! leagues.
