Kyle Shanahan's professional career in the NFL began when he was hired by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers as an assistant coach for offensive quality control in 2004. During his time with the Buccaneers, he had the privilege to work under Jon Gruden, the head of the Buccaneers at that time. In 2006, he was hired by the Houston Texans after serving the Texans for over three years he joined the Washington Redskins (now Commanders) in 2010.

As the years went by Kyle Shanahan joined many different teams and he only kept improving his coaching abilities. In 2017, he signed a six-year deal with the San Francisco 49ers and became their head coach. Kyle Shanahan led the 49ers to the grand stage of the Super Bowl in 2020, where they lost against the Kansas City Chiefs.
