Los Angeles Chargers injury report: Latest on Justin Herbert, Cam Hart, Denzel Perryman, and more for Week 16 TNF
The Denver Broncos and Los Angeles Chargers will square off at SoFi Stadium on Thursday night to kick off NFL Week 16. The Chargers enter the Thursday Night Football game fresh off a frustrating 40-17 loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 15.
Starting quarterback Justin Herbert is one of several injuries the team is dealing with this week. Let's take a look at the other players on the team's roster dealing with injuries.
Chargers injury report for Week 16 TNF
The Los Angeles Chargers listed nine players on their injury report this week, so they are more banged up than the Broncos ahead of their Thursday Night Football game.
Five players on the team's injury report on Tuesday were listed as nonparticipants on the practice report — tight end Will Dissly (shoulder), cornerback Cam Hart (concussion), guard Zion Johnson (ankle), cornerback Elijah Molden (knee) and defensive lineman Otito Ogbonnia (pelvis).
Two additional players were listed as "limited" on the team's injury report on Tuesday — quarterback Justin Herbert (ankle) and linebacker Denzel Perryman (groin).
Justin Herbert injury update
Justin Herbert was dealing with multiple injuries before the game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers last weekend, but he was still able to play. After taking a number of hits, Herbert was labeled as limited in practice on Monday and Tuesday.
The team, having listed him as dealing with an ankle injury, will hope he returns to full practice on Wednesday.
With the Chargers still actively in a race to make the playoffs, it's very likely that Herbert will play through the injury.
Cam Hart injury update
After sustaining a concussion during the Week 15 game, Cam Hart was declared out of the game.
Having logged two DNPs in practice this week, the signs are not good for the cornerback's potential availability for Thursday Night Football.
Denzel Perryman injury update
Following a strong start to the season, LB Denzel Perryman has unfortunately missed the Chargers' last four games due to a groin ailment. However, he recently said that it is his intention to play in the game against the Broncos.
Perryman has logged two limited participations this week. If he fully participates in Wednesday’s practice, he will have a better chance of playing in Week 16.
