The undisputed greatest Miami Dolphin

Dan Marino, who played for the Miami Dolphins from 1983 to 1999, is widely regarded as one of the greatest quarterbacks in NFL history. He was a nine-time Pro Bowler, and his No. 13 jersey was retired by the team in 2000.

Marino, a native of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, was selected by the Dolphins as the 27th pick in the 1983 NFL draft. Despite being considered a reach at the time, Marino quickly proved his worth, setting numerous records and leading the Dolphins to numerous playoff appearances.

One of Marino's most memorable accomplishments was his record-breaking 1984 season, during which he became the first quarterback in NFL history to pass for over 5,000 yards in a single season, winning the MVP award that season. The feat was not achieved by another player until 2008, when Drew Brees threw for 5069 yards.

Marino threw for over 60,000 yards for the Dolphins and become the first quarterback to have six 4,000-yard seasons.

If Dan Marino played today he’d rewrite every goddamn passing record in the book. The man passed for 5000 yards in 1984. That’s at least 6500 yards today if not more. Truth.

Off the field, Marino was known for his charitable work and his dedication to the game. He was a leader both on and off the field, and his work ethic and love for the game inspired countless young players.

Despite facing numerous obstacles, including injuries and a lack of postseason success, Marino never lost his passion for the game and his commitment to the Miami Dolphins. He remains a beloved figure in the team's history, and his legacy as the greatest-ever Miami Dolphins player will continue to live on for generations to come.
